They are reliable, well made, and shoot well. Don't be a gun snob!

This. Had a buddy buy a Kimber .45 and I bought my Glock 36 .45. Best part... Out of the box I could carry mine. He had to send 1000 rds through the Kimber before it was "reliable" to carry. Oh and I spent one, third as much.

(Kimber was still a NICE gun!)

Yeah, but different guns with a different purpose. I love my 1911, but I didn't buy it to carry. I bought it to have a pretty gun.

I was able to find a gunshop that has the M&P9 kit for $560 OTD. Awesome!

They also have the XDM40. I asked if they had a deal if I bought 2 pistols.

the 9mm would be for my wife to get started and the XDM40 would be just for shizz and gigglez.

Haters like to hate. :shakes head: I own two and have never and any issues.

Red__Zed 04-13-2011 02:13 PM

There is always this issue.

Realistically though, that was an isolated set of issues. I love them, I just don't like how they fit in my hand.

Oh no... Wasn't thinking you were. I know there are some that hate/dislike Glock just to hate them.

KeyboardDevil 04-13-2011 03:18 PM

1911's are expensive, beautiful, and have a great history. All very helpful to impress your friends, and turn heads at the local range. If I had an extra 3000 laying around, I'd pickup a Wilson Custom. But I would NEVER rely on one to save my life.

I have a LOT of experience with Springfield's and Glocks. Both solid and reliable firearms.

A few friends of mine have the M&P's and I've heard a lot of great things about them.

I noticed you listed 357SIG twice, I'm guessing it was an accident. However, my Glock 33 is a 357SIG, and it is awesome. I recommend it for daily carry if you can hang onto it :icon18:

If this is for home defense only, get a full sized pistol (not a compact or "sub-compact"). They are easier to hang on to, and the longer barrel will undoubtedly make you more accurate.

You can pick up a Springfield for around 500, if you keep an eye out. I have a friend that just bought one off a private seller for 475. I have a Charles Daly compact .45 that stays by the bed. Old mossberg 12 in the closet.

My next purchase will be an FN five-seven. Just trying to find one in the 850-900 range. FN is often overlooked but have really good guns, and I think they are pretty close to Sig Sauer quality.

I like the Ruger mini-30 to reach out with. I like the 7.62 over the 223. 200 yd open sights is no problem.

It sure seemed like hating when you made your "sig > glock" comment in the other thread. :stirthepot:

(Not speaking specifically to Isamu) - Guns, like almost every other "toy" in life, come in a wide variety that mesh and work better with some people than others. I learned through shooting a variety of guns a couple weeks ago that the glock may not be the best fit for my hand, but that doesn't mean it isn't a great gun for someone else.

Haters in every thread is why we can't have anything nice.

Although the title of this is glock vs xd, it's really glock versus anything. Everyone with any opinion on glock (good or bad) should take the 3:00 minutes and watch it.

Thanks! The engraving and the silver Plaque. Also you get a certificate of authenticity with number of 2500. Only 2500 are being made for the U.S. only.

yeah after I posted it, I read that it came with a COA.

It looks tempting to get, but if I were to get it. it seems more like a display gun than to actually shoot it :S

Oh I'll put some round through it! I can't buy a Ferrari and park it.
