I found me a '74 LP400 for under $100K but she's in need of a little TLC though. After changing the oil I found out the she need the engine to be overhauled which is going to cost me $64,500! After that, I'll need to spend another $108,000 in chassis maintenance, ouch!

When all is said and done I give her a new paint job, maybe red or yellow, and she'll be as good as new.

After playing GT5 for a few days, I think Forza 3 is the technically superior game. It has better AI, more "Premium" cars, Brake mods, Tint, custom paint jobs and the physics seem more accurate. That said, Forza is a little too clinical and I'm having more fun racing in GT5. I think this is primarily due to GT5 allowing you to get a little sideways but keep your momentum up. In Forza once you get sideways it almost always results in understeer and loss of momentum. In this case the "Real Driving Simulator" has a little Mario Kart in it.

That Countach is a cool find!

I have to agree with how Forza outshine's GT5. The hole premium car thing to me is an embarassment. They are nice, but people like consistancy, and I'm not sure what kind of message people are getting with all the "features" in GT5.

The physics are definitely a weak spot too as far as the collision and damage is concerned. More than ever, it feels like the cars are bumper cars. Maybe its just me, but I feel like the collisions in GT3 felt more solid.

As for which game I'll ultimately enjoy more, only time will tell. Forza 3 lasted a good 3 months with me.

Anybody else feel like the 370z handles like dooky? It feels so heavy and it understeers very badly. Ive played with different tires, TC settings, ASM on/off, etc... but still, im very disappointed by the feel of the car.

Just a side note, I bought a 3000GT VR4 and did the sport exhaust, racing intake and soft sport tires... holy cow, what a beast, very fun car, even for its size, which makes me all the more mad about the Z.

I fully tuned mine, but mine drives as a beast. I use it in the super car league...

You should have just bought the Gallardo LP560 -- I got mine 250K + an oil change and a few bolt-ons later I'm at Murcielago numbers -- 661HP. Then I got the '74 LP400 gifted after winning the Lamborghini Exclusive.

I didn't know the the LP400 was a prize car for that race. Oh well.

I didn't have the money to buy the Gallardo anyways.

I was really looking forward to Forza but I just couldn't get into it - and I really don't know why. It just... felt so generic. And I really hated how the in-game car models were greatly downgraded versions of the ones you see on the menu. So in a way, there are NO premium cars in Forza. In-game, I think GT kills it with the look of its (high-detail) cars.

I also feel like the GT handling is the closest to believable (with the exception of a few cars here and there - anyone played the Top Gear challenge with the Elise? Psh - WAY too slippery), and although the crashes aren't perfect nothing beats Burnout Paradise for that anyway. And Forza doesn't have GT's... charm. It's a classy game - I love all that chilled lounge music in the classy-looking menus.

And for those of you not happy with the damage, give it time:

I agree on the Elise challenge, there is something wrong there.

Killing the traction control seemed to help a little.

wow level 40... im only at 18

Anatoray 11-28-2010 03:12 PM

Then PD made some game progression choices that are costing them good reviews and potential sales lol.

That's because you're just time trial-ing on the Nurburgring

I do wonder if nobody just uses a tuned GT-R...

Anatoray 11-28-2010 04:01 PM

Has anyone looked at the trophy list? Some of them are freakish. Win a race by .01 or less? Get the EXACT time on the Nurburgring with the GT-R? How is that even remotely possible? I applaud anyone that gets it, but it really sounds like they're expecting a little too much with some of the trophies.
