/\ I agree completely that malpractice lawsuits are completely out of hand, however, in this case, based on the info in the article, the old man has a valid arguement.

/\ correct action by the doctor who believed he found penor cancer would have been to stop the circumcision, or finish it,either way. Wake the patient up and explain what they found, recommend penor removal as best option, let old man get a second or third opinion if felt he needed it and then have penor removed, or not, HIS choice. The doc played god and removed a vital body organ potentially against the patient's will, and def. w/o his consent, if that doesn't qualify for a malpractice lawsuit, I don't know what does.

If his penor cancer would kill the patient w/in the next couple of days, then the arguement by the doctor that it had to be done immediately is valid, if not immenently deadly, then he (the doc) fu#ked up.
