Maryland Judge Decrees Pontiac G8 GT Tail Lights Illegal
This is complete b.s. :shakes head: Issues like this give me concerns about the judicial system in our country |
Ridiculous.

Just read this, waiting for the public apology.

I agree completely with the officer's/judge's decision - owning a Pontiac SHOULD be illegal! :happydance:
|
That is the biggest load of grade A horseh!t I have heard in a while, and I just watched Glen Beck on Bill O'Riley last night. Topping that is impressive -- go MD

Yup, my super-hypocritical nanny home state strikes again.
 |

mmmm, blissfully ignorant blue pills  |
So he goes to the court of appeals, makes it a federal case, sues the fuck out of the piece of trash hell hole on earth :gtfo2: of the US Marybitch and they settle for a hefty sum, he buys a 370 and with open arms we welcome him into our community...
I call this win/win. |
The car dealers of Maryland should know, they are selling a car that is not up to specification with that states laws!

So I guess now it's the police force's job to write laws. Man. I know I should have paid closer attention in government class in high school.
I had a cop on another forum actually say that he was taught, when you're in doubt, write the ticket. THAT is bs. Unless you know that something is illegal, then you shouldn't write a ticket. I won't even go into the asinine judge. Anybody remember when there were actual morals and ethics in this country? |

Hopefully the FBI's Carnivore system flagged this post. |
CBRich, those are not the stock taillights that were being questioned.
Unrelated, I went to the G8 site and looked around. I'd be embarrassed to be part of that community. |
[QUOTE=WarmAndSCSI;628999]x3. This country needs another revolution. This government is stale and needs to be revamped or overturned.[QUOTE]
Uh... we do have elections for that you know... |
This is just weird. I have an issue around here with my license plate. I have a blue cover over the front plate. A cop pulled me over and told me it was illegal. I told him that if its illegal I shouldn't be able to by it from my local store… I didn't end up getting a ticket but come on… lets get killers off the streets and not worry about how my front license plate looks and how STOCK rear lights look...

So what happened with the case? I can haz on topic thread? :D

This country has an election system that simply doesn't work with how large the country has become. Not saying there's a better system, but everyone well educated knows that people vying for election effectively prey on the weak and uninformed for that important swing vote.
This past election was the worst I'd seen in recent elections for this kind of tactic on all fronts. The reasons people were saying they were voting for or against Obama made me shake my head. Edit: On topic, that judge and cops were complete ******** about everything, but this sort of thing isn't unheard of. States form their own laws and regulations after the federal government sets the national "standard" as it may be called. My dad's 4Runner's factory window tint isn't legal everywhere. He's SOL despite the fact that the car was produced with it. |
doesn't surprise me at all...our judicial system sucks!!! :shakes head:

I wouldn't say we have a gov't that is currently overly left. I don't recall universal health care being passed; nor any new laws being put on the books that strengthen unions/collective bargining to help ensure workers salaries are actually ahead of, rather than just below, inflation; nor do I recall any excessive capital gains taxes being levied. Actually the tax burden shifted all of about 3% onto those who can most afford it rather than on those who can't. Also, although I'm pretty happy with the current admin and impressed by most of their efforts, I'm NOT happy that Bush era warrantless wire tapping wasn't made illegal. Maintaining that policy is definitely more right than left. Eight years of Dubya shifted the discussion so far to the right, people identify anyone interested in some basic regulation aimed at protecting people as a granola crunching hippy. Or a Nazi, hilariously enough. Go figure. (End of rant) |
