Future Speeding Tickets Will Come from Space

Think you’ve trained yourself to spot a police car hiding behind a bush or a road sign? You’re wasting your time. They’ll just get you by satellite.

"Kicking Tires has questions as well. “If this is the stuff being dreamed up to nab speeders,” KT asks, “why exactly haven’t we caught Osama bin Laden?” "

The thing about this:
~You have to have their GPS unit in your car.
~You have to be on a road they can track
~What stops me from doing 90 from A to B but I stop at C for lunch so my average is 45 since it only records your A & B time stamps

Read this last week, and there are a lot of problems with this design, similar to why camera systems are not 100%. They can tick you at A & B, but are unable to calculate for stopping at C for some time to waste time.

This won't happen in America, if you think americans will let big brother spy on us think again. The globalist controlling the government have enough trouble setting up CCTV camera within the US. The only way they'll install this gps software device is under our noses!

This isn't the UK, they've CCTV cameras in every corner and award people for telly telling on you in the UK. Their government controls the citizen. In america, we're the people, we are the government!

TomTom data reveals U.S. drivers' average speed, fastest highway — Autoblog

This blows my mind. I swear around here on pretty congested highways, everyone is doing 75+ in 55 zones.

The name "Patriot Act" is an ironic mockery as it's anything but "patriotic".

Seems the powers to be are playing a sick joke on its Aerican citizenship to give a legislative act with a name that is supposed to mean "the act of preserving the freedom" when the very act iteself removes the freedoms its supposed to protect.

That's a red-herring if I ever saw one put over on the American people. :shakes head:

Per capita means per citizen, so this means Washington DC's stats are very skewed. DC actually has a very low population of actual residence, but yet a VERY big influx of commuters on a daily basis. Most likely in the range of 5 times the amount of residents (if not more). Therefore a TON of in and outbound traffic. Where there is a lot of traffic, there are a lot of traffic cameras and Traffic Cops.

Truckers already have blackbox type devices to monitor drivers. Logical next step is to mandate these in every car and use the data against drivers in cases involving accidents. After you have these blackboxes in the cars the second generation boxes then may have some kind of wireless reporting so authorities can issue you tickets using a device that you are forced to have.

Texas is trying to initiate a $300 base price on all citations before fees and other add-ons

they could tell your car was speeding from outer space but how could they tell that you were driving it? speeding ticket is connected to the driver, not to the car owner right? :)

vipor 06-15-2010 10:37 AM

Doesn't matter anymore. It's your car, your responsibility. Red light tickets made sure that law got changed.
