Forum Wars episode 350z vs GT Mustang

I found this video the other day. It was discussed on a 350Z forum I still visit every now and then. Anyway, its a show called Forum Wars where they basically take car forums and stack them up against each other in a series of performance tests. According to the discussion, the original plan was to stack a 370Z against the GT but it didn't pan out, so they used a 350Z instead.

It is a good idea implemented in a bad way.

i find it hilarious that they pit the slowest 350z 03' with an inexperienced driver vs an 08 gt Shelby mustang with a semi experienced driver. hell a 370z would have lost with that douchebag driver.

Chriz 04-20-2010 01:59 PM

Lol at the fact that they wanted to find a 370z on that forum instead of this one. Anyway the show is poorly prepared. The 350z they used was put together in 4 days (not a nismo btw like the guy states in the video) with an amateur driver pitted up against a track ready shelby gt with a seasoned driver. Nobody on the 350z site knew who the representative was nor were the administrators even contacted about the show. I heard the evo vs sti race was botched as well. Nobody from the evo site knew the driver (who in fact drives an sti and just drove his gf's stock evo for the race) and the sti they were up against had significantly more modifications including stage 2 tuning.
 for royal purple

Yada, yada, yada.....and if the 350Z would have won the match you people would be screaming just how great the show was prepared and how great the Z was compared to the Stang....

I will quote myself again.
Not saying much about this one specifically because the facts have been shared, but this really needs to have some rules to keep it some what equal.

~Driver level
~Mods: price per mod, power per mod, etc.

I am sure there are some minor rules they could create which would help make it interesting and X v. Y forum, but would attempt to not have this type of situation happen again.

elmz 04-20-2010 03:14 PM

Ouch! Sorry about that. Hey at least mine has the full video.

I'm not dense....I just get a thrill out of getting in the face of people who display a pretense of having a virtuous character, morals or principles that they do NOT really possess.

At first I liked to think of you as the Highlander, but now you remind me of the old guy I saw today holding a large wooden cross while driving his Buick.

My guess is he believes he is virtuous and moral.

Only one Person in history was worthy to bear such a cross and its certainly not me by any means. As the Highlander....perhaps.....

Unfortunately the fact that we communicate by way of text here totally removes the context from my posts. Most of my posts are all done with the purpose of just pulling peoples chains for the sake of pushing the envelope - primarily out of my need to remain free and cavalier instead of entrapped by all the :bs:t that this world tries to shove down our throats on a daily basis.

I see myself more as a Patriot who stands in defiance of the many directions that the majority of others follow. Keep that "context" in mind when reading my posts.

If that's the case, then all is cool. We all know how tough it is to pull the humor out of text, especially if there are no emoticons! Sometimes we aren't quite sure if you're just yanking chains or if you really did share the sandbox with Pharmacist as a child! :rofl2:

In any case, keep on doing your thing, brotha! ;)

Actually, I own the slowest 350Z coupe ever made. The 06 w/automatic tranny.

alefcole 04-22-2010 07:02 PM

The kid in the 350z had a sick ride, he was drifting like crazy and showed he could drive. People need to understand that that NISMO 350z handles even better than a stock 370z.

The truth is we lost the battle with the mustangs and it hurts to admit.

But don't worry guys we could still beat a hyundai genesis in season 2.

We can not blame them since it was because his OIL COOLER didn't make it on time............BIG FAIL.

alefcole 04-22-2010 07:47 PM

Last week I was at New Jersey Motorsports Park and I saw dozens of Porsche and BMW guys, even an audi R8, I wonder if the 370Z owners are still waiting for their oil cooler. :ugh2:

BUT, in a recent race (early 2010), on Car & Driver Magazine, a non-modded 370 beat a non-modded Mustang V8 by two tenths of a second! So, things are growing a bit more leveled!
