I've never heard that, and I take a big whiff every time, it smells so good. I might as well take up smoking while I'm at it.

Haha, touche. There are several ways/places to use talc, face after shaving, the bits n tackle to keep everything from rubbing, thighs for the same reason, the shoes for smell, and more. What's your use?

Shoes, down here in the summer I wear Sperry Topsiders a lot with shorts, they are also great for boating...... worn without socks they can get a little "gamey". A shot of talc in each shoe tends to keep them and your feet fresh :tiphat:

Btw, no one uses the fake ice or stones eh? How does everyone take their whiskey then, simply neat?

I've seen those "ice stones" before, a novel idea. I don't have a problem with ice melting in my drinks. I know some want their premium brand undiluted, but for me, the bourbon is still fine with a little ice melting.

Do you stick to the 2 cubes max rule?

With my icemaker, the cubes are a little smaller and sometimes come out broken, so no. The key for me here is that my ice and water is filtered, so there is no commercial water or chlorine taste to the ice...... when it melts the drink tastes the same, albeit slightly diluted. Some drinks I like a slight melting effect. I enjoy B&B on the rocks as an after dinner drink, and outside of dead of winter, which doesn't happen here much, I like it on the rocks....... so I'll pour it into the snifter and add some ice, once it melts a little I actually enjoy it more. Maybe not 100% proper, but still good.

I'm not a whiskey fan, I do love my dark rums, but never really worried about the ice cubes...

Good thread.

I have a bottle of Macallan Single Malt scotch that I bought in 2003. I'm still nursing it. I'm afraid to drink it all since I bought it in England and probably won't find it again.

Distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2002.

I don't drink much rum, I understand there are some premium, high end rums being produced now, that are meant to be taken straight. Do you do any of those in the dark variety?

the only time I use talc is when I dump it in my ski socks, lmao. It keeps the feet dry and therefore, warm.
