Volcanic Ash Watch

There are opportunities and there are opportunists. And none more ripe for the plucking than the recent molten eruption over in Iceland that caused all the traffic woes in Europe last week. If you're one of those unfortunates left stranded in a European city and have plenty of chump change, watchmaker Romain Jerome's Eyjafjallajökull-DNA timepiece (let's call it E-DNA for short) is a timely reminder of those six days when the planet exhaled.

This is as limited as they come. There's just one piece, and it's guaranteed to be a conversation starter since the fiery watch face is forged to look like something out of the magma-spitting crater of Mount Doom.

For a primeval touch of realism, the makers even hewed the rough fissured dial out of actual ash ejected by the whatchamacallit volcano. After all, volcanic ash are really bits of pulverized rock and glass. To quell doubters, there's a certificate of authenticity you can whip out confirming that the volcanic rock and ash do indeed come from the volcano. Just too bad this doesn't rumble ominously on the hour.

Yes, you are correct. You either hate 'em or love 'em. I personally LOVE them and was absolutely depressed when they were made illegal to sell in the U.S. They are far, far different from the "standard" cigarette, and the Djarums in particular are good because of their sweet "sauce" on the edge of the filter. I'm not a cigarette person generally, but these are QUITE good.

As far as travel locations, I'm something of a romantic...

One day soon, I hope. Also that watch is AWESOME. If I was loaded I'd totally pick that up.

Nothing wrong with that location at all Tin.

Here is my idea of vacation; this was almost a year ago now:

My parents are visiting from out of town, and I ordered some 12 oz Ribeyes and 1/2 lb burgers from Lobel's. GREAT online meat that gets overnighted to your home (for a price). The meat is in a different league with other meat, I have to tell you.

Right now, my stepdad and I are drinking an 18 year old Glenlivet mixed with a little Drambuie.

That's my idea of the finer things in life. :) I can't wait to grill the steaks tonight!
