it's a first person shooter game that is very fast-paced. pretty much the opposite of an exciting game of solitaire.

Lets look a the pros and cons

Quake 3

Pro

1. Last decent game by ID -- inventors of the first person shooter
2. Rocket Launcher
3. Deathmatch in its most elemental form
4. Bots

Con

1. Engine is showing its age
2. No real single player campaign
3. Outclassed completely by Unreal Tournament
4. Unbalanced weapons

Solitaire

Pro

1. So many varieties -- Klondike, Free Cell, Spider, etc.
2. Can play on my phone, on a plane, on a train (so says Sam I am)
3. No soundcard needed

Con

1. Little to no blood
2. Not exactly ego boosting as most games end in a loss (Free Cell is an exception)
3. No multiplayer (duh!)

It's close but the title goes to Solitaire
