81,371 to 73,716. Now i understand why i see them at every stop sign..

what's interesting is I'm beginning to see a lot for sale as trade ins
on new and used car lots. you don't see many z's for sale. at least not in
my area. maybe z owners hold on to their cars longer.. or maybe just camaro
and mustang owners didn't get what they expected from their cars.. imho.

Nissan can't sell a 370Z to save their soul and Ford and GM are selling Camaros and Mustangs left and right. Of course you will see more for re-sale.

Hrrmm... Mustang and Camaro out-selling the Z by 8 and 7 times, respectively? Wow?

Why?

Because a base Z cannot be had for the mid 20's and more people desire to own a Mustang or Camaro than desire to own a 370Z.

Camaro out sells the Mustang, surprising! I like the Camaro body more than the Stang.

biggest reason is the fact the Z is a 2 seater. early on in the days of this forum i can tell you how many people sold their Z and the main reason was cause it was not practical "2 seast".

uh... thres 2 engine variants of the stang and camaro, there is ONE for the 370z. that makes it a tougher sell.

all points are valid. my point for posting was to make the statement that the z is in it's on category as it should be. as is the corvette. and no i'm not comparing the two.

and that mustang and camaro owners don't seem to be keeping their cars very long. wonder why??

It doesn't matter. Your body can only absorb so much caffine before it no longer affects you. At that point, you just piss it out.

ImportConvert is making a valid point.. not just in american car sales vs. the Z.. the 370Z is waaaaay off mark to even original 350Z sales.. something is amiss.. and hopefully doesn't jeopardize the Z market here in the US.. :/

When the 350Z came out, what was the domestic competition like? Mustangs were a joke, the Camaro died, and the Vette was thousands of dollars more expensive. Plus, Hyundai's offerings were crap, and the S2000 was its main competitor.

Now, the Mustang, Camaro, Genesis Coupe, Challenger... These and a few others make up a more competitive segment. Plus hot hatches are hotter, with the MS3, and the AWD performance cars are much sportier (WRX, Evo).

Also realize that the V6 Camaros and Stangs are slugs, but they sell in much higher volumes than their V8 counterparts.
