Yeah... sneaking around with the M24 isn't that bad because you can count on your pistol in relatively close range engagements. I still haven't figured all of the controls and stuff out but I'm getting better and having fun.

I agree man, they need to come up with a patch that allows you to go prone, when you're kneeling you still present a HUGE target, i've found that the best thing to do is stand inside one of those little brush thickets, take a shot or two, then move to the next, its worked great so far. BTW, PS3 has ZERO server issues ;)

From what I've read they are never going to add prone.

I wonder what the dev will be like on the PC side... wonder if we'll ever see any new maps or anything. That's one thing that this game could use... larger maps... and larger servers IMO. 32 people is lame.

afaik the server issue has been fixed, the server owners just need to update their boxes

search for a2g servers -- they all work just fine

edit: also I'm up for anyone squadding with me. it's a plus if you have vent though as typically all of us do!

Still very frustrating. The UI is worthless and searching for servers takes forever!

Oh, and I absolutely HATE games that make you level up to use weapons. A game shouldn't rely on leveling up and unlocks to encourage people to play.

Can't even log into the EA Servers now... what a joke.

I played the beta on 360... I loved the graphics and the intense battles but there is just not enough realism.... When I hit you in the chest with ANY type of gun you are going down... period...... you have to hit people 2 or 3 times with the sniper rifle to take them down... that and no prone killed it for me... everything else about the game I liked though... I just cant get past no prone... its just not realistic..

When someone is shooting at you, you will get down ... you wont just kneel and say here I am kill me.....

MW2 is where ill stay until something better comes out or they fix BC2's flaws......

Prone is absolutely necessary, IMO. The game blows without it.

I got it for my PC via STEAM, and the game kicks butt. I have MW2, but its really getting boring fast. One thing that bugs me about BFBC2 is these guys can take a clip before they go down.

So are there different modes? I was just in a server that had a limited HUD and it seemed like the sniper rifle was much more effective (one shot kills).

That's hardcore mode. UI is disabled, bullets are more realistic and you have no x-hair making the sight upgrades awesome.

Yeah, that's it then. I'm much better in Hardcore mode than the regular mode which seems to be more run and gun than anything else.

Still wish all of the weapons were unlocked, though. I think the game would be great if all weapons were unlocked and you could go prone. Without that it really, really sucks when it doesn't have to. Makes me mad.

Weapons are only set up like that in ranked servers. If you play unranked then everything is unlocked already (iirc). To be honest I sort of like the unlock system -- or at least for some of the guns. I think they should throw you a couple more bones early on to help out.

It is also silly that the medic has to unlock his paddles + bag.

Overall, it's a nice break from CS:S for me -- 'specially because I cannot stand MW2.

Hmm.. I hope you're right. The server sorting is very whack so I haven't been able to figure out who is ranked/unranked yet.

Only issue I have with this so far is that you have to un-laod an entire clip to take someone down. i know this changes in hardcore, but still.

What I love about this, is that campers are pretty much pointless in this game, and that was the single thing i hated the most about MW2, campers with heart beat monitors.


So far its a good alternative to playing MW2 until something else comes out. I just have a feeling once you level it all out, you will get bored really fast.

You know, I've actually gotten used to it and can see why the devs decided to leave it out. Basically, these are still relatively small maps and the style of gameplay the devs want is kind of a fast-paced, intense firefight style of gameplay that incorporates teamwork and strategy... They don't want people whoring the sniper rifles and camping everywhere.

So if you do pick up the sniper rifle, you've got to be aware of where you are and know that you can't stay in one place for too long... that kind of puts it in your head that you should probably move forward and support your teammates. Basically, you either operate as a forward and use your rifle to take care of soft targets and direct mortars to take care of hard targets and then your team will come in... or you can operate in a more supportive role where you stay behind your lead group of fighters and look out for them/take care of loose ends, etc.

So, I'm OK with no prone... BUT, if the maps were larger I would definitely want it, because then I think camping snipers should be part of the game as they would be in real life.

But man, these destructive environments are AWESOME. Your battlefield is constantly changing and no one match on the same map is like the one before it. It's very cool. You can be shooting from an attic one minute and a Bradley can come along and blow the roof off or just plain take the building down. That's awesome.

One of the bigger problems with previous FPS was the ability to camp in buildings. If you were attacking your enemy they could easily and rather safely take up a defensive position inside a building... as long as they were behind a wall the only way you'd get them is by going in.

NOT ANYMORE! Just knock the ******* building down! I love it!!!

Also, HARDCORE mode is the ONLY mode as far as I'm concerned. The other mode is too unrealistic... takes like 10 hits to kill someone.

Yeah, honestly I will probably write up a small guide on how to be a useful recon and not just a perch-humping douche that snipes people who get rez'd a second later.

I'm actually having issues running both cards in Windows 7 x64 for some reason, whether in SLI mode or not. The drivers won't install on the 2nd card. I'm thinking it might be motherboard related. Thankfully I can still play at Medium with no issues and High so long as I don't use vehicles.

PC is where it's at!

They tried to port a real FPS to console and it failed lol. You can go to PC, but not from.

^^^ the issue with pc, is it becomes a little too easy... naturally your dexterity to point a mouse and click, is greater than trying to do the same with both of your thumbs simultaneously.

What drew me away from the PC was all the damn hacking, aim boting etc... way to annoying.

Move to a point and click, or.... 1) press stick, 2) hold stick, 3) stop at correct time, 4) back up a little, 5) click

I love console gaming for some games, but not for shooters where aim is truly important

anyone else find the BF friend list buggy as hell? My invites dont seem to go out and once a week or so all my friends get deleted. pretty annoying.

Yeah I can't invite anyone it blows. Plus you have to refresh the server list EVERY EFFIN TIME. I connect then my roommate follows me and when he joins I get kicked.
