Just incase anyone wants to actually read and develop their own thoughts:

I can hear it now, but CNN is biased....the top fact check spells out Brian Kemp's response to Trump's false narrative:
Monday: Trump falsely claims Biden hasn’t answered calls from Georgia’s governor

During a visit to Georgia on Monday, Trump said of Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp: “He’s been calling the president, hasn’t been able to get him.”

It was immediately clear that Trump’s claim was false. Kemp, a Republican, told reporters earlier Monday that he had spoken with Biden the day prior — and that it was Kemp who had initially missed a call from Biden, not the other way around.

Kemp told reporters that he had successfully called Biden right back. Kemp added: “He just said, ‘Hey, what do you need?’ And I told him, you know, ‘We got what we need. We’ll work through the federal process.’ He offered that if there’s other things we need, just to call him directly, which — I appreciate that. But we’ve had FEMA embedded with us since a day or two before the storm hit in our state operations center in Atlanta; we’ve got a great relationship with them.”

Well this is interesting:

Also this $750 narrative is being twisted:

https://www.verifythis.com/article/n...4-c5bebf4e9327

"One form of disaster relief assistance offered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) does provide people with $750 to be used for food and essentials. However, disaster victims can also apply for and receive multiple other forms of assistance.

“One type of assistance that is often approved quickly after you apply is Serious Needs Assistance, which is $750 to help pay for essential items like food, water, baby formula, breastfeeding supplies, medication and other emergency supplies,” FEMA says on its rumor response webpage. “There are other forms of assistance that you may qualify to receive once you apply for disaster assistance. As your application continues to be reviewed, you may still receive additional forms of assistance for other needs such as support for temporary housing and home repair costs.”

Serious Needs Assistance was one of two new disaster relief programs FEMA began offering this year after it added new benefits and made it easier for disaster survivors to apply for help. The other new program is Displacement Assistance, which pays for a victim’s hotel or motel stay while they work on their long-term housing plan."

FEMA chief response to these narratives:

So did I cover enough ground with multiple sources, other than AP?

Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see. I will leave it at that.

So I don't live in the impacted areas. I do however have friends in those areas, all of which I can count on their reporting since they are on the ground. I don't know you as well as them, so I trust their word more than yours. Additionally their reporting corroborates the reporting from the multiple sources I have already referenced. I will leave it at that.

Watch Greg Biffle on Instagram. Watch Cleetus McFarland. Watch other things that come in on YouTube where the people themselves are helping each other. Watch the work that the non-profits are doing for the people. This was a big area that was impacted. All I can say is we have amazing people in the USA helping each other in a time of need. The government is slow and bulky. You can't count on them for anything. Big cities, yeah you will see them. Small communities, you will not. Just the way it is.

I work for T-mobile. We were asked by Walmart to deploy a cow that has Satellite backhaul so they could run their point of sales. It wasn't long before the whole parking lot was full. Why, people were calling home. It was like the Walking dead. Everybody was standing around the COLT, Cell site on Light Truck, using their phones calling loved ones, etc. There were so many people that the site started congesting quickly. We had to deploy a 2nd COLT. All I see is we live in an amazing place where people can take care of people before the government does much of anything. Politics has nothing to do with it.

I get to see first hand within hrs of the impacted areas. I can see exactly where the storm went through. Helene was devastating and caught everyone off guard.

So slow response is equal to essentially no response and the federal government giving next to no aid to victims? Like I said in my first reply, citing several different sources, the narrative that there is no money allocated for this situation is patently false. It's a shame that politics are being injected into horrible situations, in order to placate to constituents and farm potential votes. Before jumping on a narrative that has no substance if you do a tad bit of reading, and funny enough searching (you know that reference we use on this forum exhaustively), you may wanna subscribe to some self education and research. Just because one subscribes to a narrative, it doesn't make it a fact.

Dude, get out of here with your negativity. My response was not political. If you want to live on the left or right, I don't care. I am in the middle, so leave me out of it.

Now, time to get ready for Hurricane Milton. #3 of the year. No fun.

Wasn't being negative, just factual. Sorry you took it that way, but I provided resources that actually provide factual data that poke holes in the narrative that "FEMA has no money left".

Negativity? Interesting...considering the above.

Also considering the above quote of yours "The government is slow and bulky. You can't count on them for anything." I'm all for being independent and taking care of yourself without assistance, but this was an unexpected level of impact, due to a generational storm ravaging multiple states. Planning can only do so much and it isn't until AFTER the storm moved through that anyone can actually revise and reorganize a more practical approach. That takes time and resources, that unfortunately, take additional time to organize. Understanding the frustration is one thing, but to say no one at the federal level is doing anything "because no money", is simply exacerbating an already stressed situation. What doesn't help an already stressful situation is distracting from it with false narratives. I'm done. Enjoy your day.

Some people just can't stand it when you have a different opinion than theirs. Leingod stalks me all over the place because of it.

Leingod 10-07-2024 04:54 PM

Yup. It's the forum. Public place I still randomly enjoy viewing to see what's new. Totally just to stalk you. Id tell you to get a life, but you're just going to continue huffing your own arse thinking you're always right. Nobody cares for you because of your overall personality. Congrats on being a self centered tool.

Rusty 10-07-2024 06:23 PM

Talk about takin' tha' bait and runnin' with it. :rofl2: Some people are so easy to get offended. If you don't see things THIER WAY. You don't deserve to breath. :shakes head: Everyone has an opinion. Rather you agree with it or not. It's called the 1st Amendment. You or I can criticize the government. Right or wrong. I've worked for the government years ago. I know how unscrupulous it can be. I've seen my dept head lie through his teeth while trying to blow sunshine up our azzes. There is a lot of pay to play going on. If you don't agree with the 1st Amendment on free speech. Then go take a hike. To someplace like Russia.
