Some things I really like about the Rogue...

Super smooth and quiet. Don’t even know it’s running.

Haven’t timed it, but 0-50 is rocket fast. At least my seat of the pants tells me.

35 MPG on regular fuel.

Seats are recliner soft and comfortable.

The nanny’s are perfect for the wife. Turn on the laser Cruise Control and navigation and it almost drives itself. Kinda freaky, but very cool. Actually nudges the car in the direction you need to go (off ramps, etc).

Heads up display was annoying at first, but getting used to it. Like that the speed limit and turn by turn is right in front of you.

Auto braking is VERY cool. Picked up a deer in the middle of the road the other morning. Wife couldn’t figure out why the car was stopping.

Auto start senses temperature and turns on climate control, heated seats, heated steering wheel. Wife LOVES that!

Yea, I’m definitely having buyers/leasers remorse right now.

The main thing is my wife loves it. Happy wife, happy life!

I should have went with the Mazda CX-5, but they wouldn’t give me shift on the Z and the dealer was an hour and a half away.

I’ve got 17 more months to figure it all out. Bottom line is I got way more for the Z than I expected, but also paid more on the Rogue than I should have compared to the Mazda. I consider it a wash.

Once again, car dealers are one of the lowest beings on this planet... one step above lawyers... it’s a rigged game, but nobody put a gun to my head.

Live and learn.

The idea of "happy wife, happy life" is BS. Marriage is a two-way street and each decision has to be mutually beneficial and not just one-sided. Team effort and mutual respect, otherwise, 1 person will always resent the other.

It's good to be positive, but it sounds like you are now just settling.

Have you received the check from the dealer? If not, I still stand firm on my vote on getting your Z back. If you are planning on getting your Z back, the longer it sits at the dealer, the more "test" drives it's going to get.

Just celebrated our 10-year anniversary this month actually lol. I treat my wife well and we both understand about sacrifices, however, we also understand that no sacrifice is worth anyone's happiness.

And I thought the check deadline was today? If it hasn't come today, it's not coming tomorrow, and that dealer will most likely feed you any pathetic excuse to further delay.

Yea, I thought it was today too. Apparently check is in the mail...

I think the dealer knows I don’t want the Z back, so I’m kind of between a rock and a hard place. Unless I want to get a lawyer involved... honestly, I’d rather stick a needle in my eye than to do that.

If you could get your car back - would you? With the new Z out and used car prices coming down; I would imagine you would be able to get a slightly used Z for probably less than what you traded your ride in. Also - this would give you time to check out different platforms or the new Z if that is an option. Regardless I feel that the Z is a great car - love mine - but…you’ve already did the hardest part - trading it in - maybe check out other car platforms while your wife enjoys the Rogue. In the end - the Z prices will be going back to normal/down - so you can always get another one cheaply.

Sounds like a solid albeit boring daily driver. Btw, that fast feeling 0-50, that’s the beauty of FI. Turbos make everything better. :driving:

You’re leasing correct? If so as long as you get your damn check, then you can walk away from the rogue in 36 months and call it a learning experience. Gives you time to fig out what’ll be next.

FYI, if a sports car isn’t in the cards for y’all for whatever reason, there are plenty of fast sporty suvs out there now at various price points.

Just a few: Hyundai Kona N, Audi Q3 45 TFSI (MK7 GTI motor), BMW X2, Mercedes GLA, etc.

PS- happy new year man.

Yea, makes a much better DD than the Z. Lease is for 18 months, so I’m already looking for something and will almost definitely be the Mazda CX-5 turbo Signature. If they would have matched the offer Nissan gave me for the Z, she would be driving that today.

Happy new year to you too!

No, that ship has sailed. I’m past my toy stage. I’m actually enjoying the KIA. Nice not having to row the gears in Atlanta traffic. If I did get the new Z it would almost definitely be an auto.

I think you’ll be able to find a cheap Z once the NEW Z becomes readily available thus driving down the prices of 370Zs. I think you’ll be able to find a new weekend warrior without issue for much less than what you traded in your Z (by the way - love the chicane yellow)
