NFPA conference so not as fun as it could have been. Did get to enjoy a few tables. Won money but spent most of it.

The American K-12 education system leaves a lot to be desired.

A govt run program is accountable to both congress and the public. Recklessly disregarding safety warnings would result in criminal negligence charges potentially.

Whenever there was a mishap with the shuttle program for example, nasa had to perform a deep dive (pun intended) into what went wrong and fix it.

Deep sea exploration is not a govt regulated space, all the certifications and requirements are not mandatory.

It’s a Wild West capitalist world, therefore people believed the CEO’s claims that there newfangled deep sea tech was better and the warnings were bs. Turns out money and ideas didn’t trump experience and best practices. Go figure.

All the tourists (passengers) that died knew this going in and they got what they got. You win some you lose some no biggie.

Every govt in every era is/was corrupt to one degree or another. The last admin did a bunch of shady sh1t, the current one has too, and so on and so on etc etc.

At the end of the day it’s never been about right or left it’s about the very ultra wealthy vs everyone else.

The irony though is that the best way to keep the Uber wealthy in check and protect the middle class is through taxes, govt regulations/laws and social programs. You know like fair corporate and personal tax rates, FDA, USDA, etc to keep our food, medicine safe etc. social security and medical care for folks.

Our last guilded age of sh1t came to an end with FDR and raising taxes on wealthy individuals and businesses. He also created social security. Then LBJ ushered in Medicare.

Both of these were democrats. The republicans have been crying socialism over the above since their inception but that’s the reason we have had a big strong middle and working class since the 40’s.

Unfortunately the dems got hijacked by identity politics and forgot it’s “always about the economy stupid”.

It ain’t fun if it can’t kill ya.

Ice cream already does that for me. A couple months ago when I down entire tub of ice cream post-workout gave me runny sh!ts throughout the night, and my @$$ was on FIRE. Or maybe it was the toilet paper.
