Been to the dealership twice this week for a new tire for the Rouge. 2nd time there has been absolutely no one looking in the showroom. The place is a ghost town. I was waiting for a piece of tumble weed to blow through...

Since I had some time to kill I starting window shopping. These clowns are still charging a "market adjustment" of 3 to $6000. A pathfinder with a sticker of $45,000 was going for $51,000!

A maxima was going for $50,000!

I asked what they'd take for the maxima. Best out the door price. Hey told me $49,500.

These dealers are putting themselves out of business. Greed kills!

The market has abruptly shifted in terms of cost, price, and the value of money, and COVID was a major factor in addition to inflation. Before COVID, the pricing norm went up slowly and incrementally compared to what happened in the past couple of years. $1 say 3 years ago is probably equivalent to close to $.60 to $.70 today, whereas this kind of shift 20 years ago took more time. Maxima's in the $50K range is unfortunately the new norm. Who would have thought the base Z would start close to $70K? :gtfo2:

thats gotta be with market adjustment bs, im on nissan's website right now and they're about $41,000

still f'n crazy.

eastwest2300 04-27-2023 05:18 PM

ok, so being fair and honest, i just looked into the new 375z..

the only cool thing that I saw that you'd have to pay for (roughly $500), it doesn't come standard.. you can get a "virtual" key.. which gives you the ability to lock/unlock your doors AND remote start...

nissan definitely nickel and dimes you for everything, and after looking at a lot of their accessories, a lot of that stuff should come standard.. but i digress.

eastwest2300 04-27-2023 05:22 PM

ohh, forgot to mention, for well qualified buyers, 7.65% interest rate...:eek: ouch! and if you decide to lease (which I would never do personally).. you get 10,000 miles per year..:eek:

What the website says and what the individual dealers are charging are two different stories.

And yes, close to $70K. I saw one in person at a dealer a few months back, and it was listed at $66K.

vtec to vvel 04-27-2023 05:33 PM

Not sure why everyone seems to be surprised by the costs. The media has been heavily covering rate increases. What did people think was going to happen?

People complain about 8% home and car loans. Interest rates say in the 80's/90's was close to 20% for homes loans and near 15% for car loans. And mind you, incomes were much lower then compared to now, even with inflation factored in.

Yup. Leased the Rouge. $45,000 vehicle. $4000 down, 18 months 15,000 miles. $535 a month. 12,000 a year mileage was an extra $80 a month. one of the main reasons went with it is because they blew me away with what they gave me on the Z. At this rate the Rogue is going to sit for the last two months of the lease to keep it under the mileage.

Wife loves it so far, but I think I’m going with a Mazda CX5 next year. Lots more bang for the buck.

yeah that mileage sh1t is for the birds, although I dont think I've ever averaged 12k miles a year, but i guess thats the average for most folks.

Industry standard is 15K miles from what I was told by Geico. We put maybe 7K miles a year on the wifey's car. Z got maybe 200 miles the past 2 years from being out of commission.

Randomly got a call for a interview I applied at a company months ago. I will be sure to emphasize I am a Millennial.

No gym and no McD's tonight in preparation for interview.

I find that hard to believe, but I think you’re right. If the Fed is allowed to keep printing money the way they have, you’ll be absolutely right.

The House quietly voted to raise the debt ceiling yesterday. I say quietly, because the only news outlet I see reporting on it is Fox.

They also cut 1.4 Trillion in government spending. I have little faith that it gets past the Senate and have NO faith it gets past whoever is pulling the pResidents puppet strings.

It seems the Dims don’t like the fact that you’ll actually have to work to get Food Stamps and Welfare.

Wall Street seemed to like the news by the rally today, but let’s see what happens.

None of this is going to matter once the Dims take your cash and give you their digital currency.

It’s their money and they despise us for not giving it to them. They hate the fact that we spend it as we see fit. Another day, another step closer to a Communist Country.

Thankfully I’ll be dead and buried before these clowns that voted for Brandon get into power.

PS: good luck on the interview.

<< The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is looking to hire special agents who carry guns and make arrests with jobs available in all 50 states, according to a posting on the agency’s website.

The law enforcement branch of the IRS, known as the Criminal Investigation (CI) division, is hiring for the role at locations throughout the U.S. IRS special agents within the CI division are the only IRS employees who are authorized by law to carry and use firearms. IRS-CI investigates financial crimes, money laundering, tax-related identity theft and terrorist financing efforts. >>

The last time the Dims were in power, they sicced the IRS on Conservative Non-Profits. If you think they’re going to stop at just the Conservative’s this time you’re going to be unpleasantly surprised.

First your guns, then your money… all because the mean Orange man hurt your feelings.

"CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE KIDS WHO WERE BORN in the ’60s ’70s & ’80s

First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us.

They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a tin and didn’t get tested for diabetes.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitch-hiking .

As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a van – loose – was always great fun.We drank water from the garden hosepipe and NOT from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this. We ate cakes, white bread and real butter and drank pop with sugar in it,but we weren’t overweight because……WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!!In the summer we would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem .

We did not have Playstations, Nintendo’s, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround sound, no cell phones, no text messaging, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms……….WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!

We played with worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.

Made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would happen, we did not poke out any eyes.We rode bikes or walked to a friend’s house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just yelled for them!
Local teams had try-outs and not everyone made the team. Those who didn’t had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!

This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!"

Born in the mid 50's. We had BB gun battles. Played football in a graveyard. Soaped the windows on a police car with the local cop in it, one Halloween. Mom's didn't about you unless the blood was squinting,. Broken bones, your arm or leg had to be at a right angle before you went to the hospital. If you cussed. you got your mouth washed out with soap. You always said, Thank You, and Excuse me.

Granted prices were lower back then, but still makes me wonder how stuff was affordable back then. Higher rates and incomes where significantly lower, even with taking inflation into factor.

Imagine 20 years from now, where car monthly payments will be $3k and that's on the low end and poverty level is $200K/annual.

Yep, I remember being forced to go to school even if I was sick and on the brink of death.

If I acted up, I got whipped with a belt and with the buckle end. Asian parents also used bamboo sticks, which hurt like a MOFO.

Ditto on the soap/water if I so much as said "crap".

And definitely on the "Yes/no sir/ma'am, Thank you, etc."

Most importantly, we all went outside to play. Tag, flag football, hide/seek, cops/robbers, going over each other's treehouses. The occasional knocking on doors and running away.
