286 feet, almost a football field! I remember a NASA engineer saying that the Space Shuttle had a glide path of "a pair of pliers" |

"Yellen on how the US can bring down inflation while maintaining a strong job market." This b!tch is totally clueless, maybe even as much as, if not more, than Brandon. "'We’re seeing those supply chain bottlenecks that boosted inflation, they’re beginning to resolve,” she said. “We had big shifts in the way people live and low interest rates, and housing prices rose a lot. Now, housing prices have essentially settled down.'" Housing prices have NOT settled down. Home prices may have come down from the ever-inflated prices during COVID, but they are still well-above the pre-pandemic levels. And guess what? We are still experiencing a severe shortage of homes - about 15 years of underbuilding of homes, so this issue is not going away anytime soon. |

"What Walmart’s pullback from Chicago says about Corporate America’s limits." I don't see why this is such a big deal. Every business is in it to make money, and if a particular area/store isn't producing and rather losing big bucks, then it absolutely makes sense to shut it down. |

Just used the very last roll of TP from when I mass-purchased back in mid-2020. As soon as I got wind that COVID had the potential to become a global issue, I started buying in bulk of hand-sanitizer, Clorox Wipes, Clorox Bleach, and anti-bacterial soap. Still have plenty of Dial Soap and bleach to last probably another 2 years. What I wasn't expecting was the hoarding of TP. I was in real estate property management at that time, so I ordered a sh!t ton of TP through the janitorial vendor we used at the time.
But I've always wondered: Why was TP and paper towels such a hot commodity during COVID? Anything anti-bacterial related I can understand, but why also TP? |

"Christine Lagarde says she has ‘huge confidence’ that the US won’t default on its own debt." ....and who the hell are you? Lady, you can't look to the past to get insight on solutions on what to do for the current situation because this scenario is new: COVID, global supply shortage, war. The Feds are doing exactly this of using an outdated playbook for a scenario in which we've never been in before, and look how it's NOT working out. "Economists predict banks are getting more cautious about lending money after the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank in March, escalating fears of a credit crisis." Ummm....banks have been getting more cautious about lending money since the Feds starting raising rates starting over a year ago. It's called quantitative tightening and it's been happening WAY before the bank collapse. |

In the same article, it's stated: "'These stores lose tens of millions of dollars a year, and their annual losses nearly doubled in just the last five years,' Walmart said. Despite years of different strategies, the company said, it did not see a route to profitability for these stores. Walmart, which made $20.6 billion in 2022, did not specify why losses were growing in Chicago." If I was an executive of a company and was losing millions annually, damn right I would plug holes to prevent money spilling out. And "did not specify why losses were growing in Chicago." :rofl2::rofl2::rofl2::rofl2: Perhaps theft/crime? Just a wild guess :shakes head: Hey Chicago, how do you feel about defunding the police now? https://www.foxnews.com/us/defund-po...r-most-experts |

Also, I find it quite ironic that Chicago was heavy on defunding the police protests, and Wally is closing down for annual monetary losses from what most likely is crime/theft. |
