GM All! What a pleasant surprise to have temps below 90 in FL (currently 75 in my area), when FL only has 1 season (summer) year-round.

I don't take pills. Other people need them. They're bi-polar. Why do you think most of the guys are no longer on here.

It's 50 where I'm at (Central FL), and then back to the high 80s by the weekend. WTF.

Welp, it was nice to have 3 days of cool weather and then back to the tropical weather. Hurricane Season still in effect until end of November.

Disclaimer: I don't get into politics with anyone because it ends up being a sh!t show. I respect and welcome everyone, regardless of your political views.

So apparently, everyone is all for PPP and pandemic-related loan forgiveness, but some people get their panties twisted with Biden's student loan forgiveness program and now there is a temporary hold on that by a federal judge. What in the actual FCUK :gtfo2:

I understand how people can get upset about adding a debt to society with the student loan forgiveness, esp. those that did not pursue secondary education. But with this logic, this would also apply to the PPP/pandemic-related loans that were forgiven, which not everyone received these as well.

When you force people to shut down their businesses over government overreach, (the flu) what are we supposed to do?

We don’t get unemployment checks. It’s a risk we take knowingly, just like the kids that sign on the dotted line for “free money” to go party for 4 years.

I agree that I don’t want to get into a pissing match either, but until the Schools actually have some skin in the game, I don’t want to hear it. You think Harvard cares that their next law graduate can’t meet his bills? Of course not. Just pay your outragoues tuition and shut up.

We all have our own gripes and opinions of the necessary evil we call "the government". And props to people who have their own business, and while this can go either way, the greater the risk, the greater the reward. Though I've never had my own business, for the past 2 years and until recently, I was 1099, where my income was 100% commission. I had some killer months while also having a few really bad months. It would have been nice to be able to partake in any financial assistance, but I somehow figured it out and got on with my life.

You and I have a decent e-relationship, and I get where you're coming from. My gripe is that when they decided to forgive PPP/SBA/etc. loans, no one pushed back on that whatsoever, and I myself didn't complain about this being forgiven, even though I know that it would some how affect each taxpayer. Now that student loan forgiveness is on the horizon and starting to gain traction, some people get butt hurt over this and do what they can to block this. despite that there are conditions to qualify for the forgiveness. For schools to have skin in the game, I don't see how, unless they have an internal financial aid system to give student loans. As far as I am aware, the bulk of student loans are issued/backed by the government (while there are private lenders/servicers), much like PPP/SBA Loans.

On a side note, still love ya man! :hello:

Got laid off. Went back to school and got my first degree while raising a family. Paid that loan back. Got 2 more degrees. Paid them back. No one is offering me money for my student loans. My daughter got a PhD. She paid those loans off. No one is offering her money. So why should my tax dollars be used to bail out out someone who is financially irresponsible. It's just another way to buy votes from college students who don't know any better.

:iagree:

Regarding the student loan forgiveness, I didn't ask for this program and just a mere potential recipient. It just happened to be offered, and while offered, I decided to take advantage of it by applying for it. Just as the PPP/SBA Loans were available due to COVID, people took advantage of this option, and also took advantage at the opportunity to get these forgiven when offered.

I still get potential clients that tell me "If you can't get me a 2% interest rate on my mortgage loan, then don't talk to me". My response to them: "You're only about 2 years late".

Point I'm trying to make is looks like it's a timing issue.

Sidebar question and with all due respect Rusty: IF you/your daughter still had a balance on the student loan, and an opportunity came about for them to be forgiven, would you proceed or decline?
