I go in Dec 1st out patient. They want to see inside the kidney with a scope while injecting dye in me. The other part is that they might (most likely) put a stent in at the junction of the kidney/drain duct. They saw scar tissue there, and think that is most of my problem by closing off the duct. The stent will open up the duct drain better. The scar tissue is from the 1997 operation for the same problem. :icon14:

Change in plans. The doctor called today while I was at the range. He cancelled the appointment on Dec 1st. He has me scheduled to see a surgeon at Ruby Hospital in Morgantown on the 19th. Big med complex. From what the doc told me today. The stent he was planning wouldn't work for long. Too much scar tissue. So....off to Ruby I go to remove the scar tissue. The scar tissue is closing off the duct that drains the kidney into the bladder. It will pass water, but not the other stuff that the kidney filters out. Which causes the kidney stones.

Dropped the dog off at the emergency clinic. Don't worry though - just a dumb formality.

One of her prescriptions I picked up this morning is a capsule instead of the normal (usually chewable) tablet. I have to break up the tablet for her correct dose which I can't do with a capsule. Since the vet is closed my only option for getting the her med is to hit up an emergency clinic that's open. They can't prescribe anything without actually performing a physical exam on the animal. Right now they are on a 6-8 hour wait. So I drop the dog off and they'll call me when she gets her exam (around midnight presumably). They'll give me one tablet to last the weekend and I'm only out the cost of the emergency clinic exam fee

I'm at the office now  but I'm heading to the bar soon

She went down hill last night. I had to make her comfortable. I will see her again at the rainbow bridge. I will see lots of my furbabies there. They bring great joy the time they touch your life. Such a shame they can't live longer. She was born May 9th, 2007. It is always heart breaking.
