Hey guys... I guess I better check in as people are starting to look for me....

Yesterday I actually got some reasonably good news when Supergirl and I, visited my Oncology surgeon down in Tampa at the Moffitt Cancer Center. Even though I did not have any surgery this last go round, he is still very much vested as part of the overall team that is working on my problem.

He and his Nurse Practioner looked at both sides of my throat area by sending the nasal scope up and down through both my nostrils a few times. While they were in there they took a bunch of fun pictures. The scope is a little odd, but I have had this run up in my nose about 20 times in the last two years, so it doesn’t really affect me anymore. Now its more like, “...No problem, jam it to me...”

After they examined the pictures for awhile, they said it appears like the recent Radiation and Chemo worked well and they saw no clinical evidence of cancer anymore.

Of course the full scans that are scheduled to be taken in the beginning of August will be a little more definitive, but the Doctor today was quite impressed and upbeat about it... uh, of course, so were we...

After that appointment I had to head over to the Speech and Swallow Clinic for a first appointment review to see what their plan will be. Even after they looked me over and saw my crazy half tongue and the total frame off restoration of my classic 1959 throat area, they were quite positive that they could help and get me going again and maybe get rid of my G tube so possibly I can gain some weight back... I am currently down to size 30-30 pants, after having lost 121 lbs now from not being able to eat or drink anything at all, or even really talk, for over 10 months now.

This was good news but I only say “reasonably good news” because this is such a rollercoaster ride I have been on for almost 2 years now and have heard statements of cancer free before only for them to change their minds a few months later.

I am trying to stay positive though as I have a lot people working on me trying to fix this. (actually I added up all the bills since this started... $2.4M to this point....damn glad I got the best insurance I could buy when I saw this starting....I am certain Blue Cross must hate me by now...LOL)

Thanks again for all the prayers and support. Its working...

Yeah, I suppose you're right... I am doing much better though... I am mowing my own lawn, cleaning our pool myself, going kayaking, playing disc golf. I also was able to go to NC to see a granddaughter graduate from HS about a week ago. Things are definitely looking up... I even bought the Mrs a new car and I did the ceramic coating on it myself...

All of this is good to hear. Bet it picked your spirits up. When you don't post. We start to worry. You're one of us.

The first wifey. She would go through 5 chemo treatments. They said if the numbers stay down after the 6th. You're in remission. She would get that 6 th treatment and the numbers would shoot up. We did this for over 3 years. It was a rollercoaster ride. I kept all of the medical billing. It added up to 2.7 million.

Maybe do a shower curtain setup like Betty? keep the rest of garage clean and dry while you detail a ride?

TGIF mofos :hello:

Water in the Z again. Different source. This time it appears to be leaking where the CMC seals to the firewall. Found water dripping off the clutch pedal assembly during troubleshooting :icon14: Got it parked in my parents' garage for a few days while I get the M3 in order.

G'morning :hello:

Tried to ship that exhaust yesterday. Bought a couple of labels online from UPS and printed them out. Then when I went to a UPS store to drop it off, they couldn't scan in one of the labels. Told me to wait for corporate to call me about the issue :icon14:

-ZS-Carpenter 06-05-2021 05:55 AM

Morning all. :hello:

Another busy weekend here but things are coming together. The garage is cleaned out and I have begun working on the wash bay. Had a couple friends help hang some super thick plastic on the ceiling last night. Need to make a curtain divider between the bays and source some sheeting for the lid. Building material is much too high so I turned on the thinker and made some calls.

First thing I tried to track down was some Duraplate:yum: That stuff would be perfect on the lid, it's already white and will never need painting plus waterproof and tough as hell. I got a maybe on that and am waiting on a call back.

Next up, used form faces. not near as nice as Duraplate. They are mostly black or dark colored and soaked in oil so unpaintable. They are also much smaller so I'll need extra caulk to seal things up. But the price is right. They are scrap to our contractor supply guy and I might be able to get a few pallets for free  I'll find out more on those next week.

About time to get started. You guys have a good weekend

johnxxx 06-05-2021 06:36 AM

I'z up early. :icon14:

Got 1 ton of sand yesterday for the pool and got it spread. Waiting on 3 more tons right now to be delivered. 1 ton wasn't enough like they told me it would be.
