Rounded 2 of the 6 strut tower 12mm bolts trying to remove them so I could begin work on the fucas. Ordered an extractor kit, nut splitter, and new nuts for the project. So much for doing that work this weekend...

Morning all

Moving day today. I hate moving but this should be a somewhat easy one. I have an army of guys and a small fleet of trucks. 1 trip each go around shouldn't be bad.

The war on mice continues. Only got 1 last night but had 4 the first night I had traps set. I think it will be an endless war with how the house is.

Madwi is snoozing in the Pink Room. Betty should be dodging bullets going past the south side and I'm working a cup of coffee.

Have a good one guys

I started adding some smart devices for the house. First this i picked up was a Chamberlain MyQ garage door controller. Get one if you don't have one and make sure to get an extra sensor if you have multiple doors. One of the best parts it has a motion sensor that keeps the light in the opener on when you are in the garage. No more kicking between the sensors evey 5 min.

Good Saturday Morning All. 89* for the high today with 0% chance of rain. Well the Mrs wants to go shopping today for her mom even though we have gotten her what she wanted for Mother's Day. That usually means going to about 5-6 different places when she said she there were only a couple. :icon14: Oh well all is good. Have Great Saturday Guys. Stay Safe, Stay Positive and Keep Washing Those Hands.

Yup. Rounded 1 on each side. On so tight that my socket was shaving the metal on the nut.

What brand socket?

My HF sockets have been rounding nuts since the dawn of time. Haven't once experienced it with my Snap-On sockets. Having similar issues with my 1/4 drive allen bits. Finally got some Gearwrench ones that don't round off like the HF ones do.

Happy Saturday everyone! Bought a bike last week so I can shed some of this winter/covid fat. Had to assemble it and then took it out for a spin yesterday. One mile out and my legs were burning (got a little over zealous with the gears). I think Ill trade it in for an Ebike.:rofl2:

Yep. Autobahn 20655 Hawthorne Blvd. Tony is the owner. They've done a bunch of small things on my car. They're right door to the shop that did all the mods on my car (L Spec).

Tekton. First thing they've ever rounded off. I met someone on the forum 5 yrs ago local to me who said he'd help install swift springs. His son then proceeded to uga dugga every nut and bolt housing the shock tower. I'm just now suffering the fallout from it.

Snap-On. Everything else is junk. Their sockets and wrenches will remove nuts and bolts where other won't. When you come here. I have to show you the nut on my cut-off arbor that my Snap-On wrench removes. :rofl2:

That sucks. :shakes head:

Rusty 05-08-2021 10:27 AM

Was planning on sleeping in. But got up at 8. Had a guy show up at 9 to get 5 tires that I sold him. 285/70-17's that was the oem tires on my Power Wagon. Now I got a little bit more room in my 5lb garage.

Gotta make due with the cheaper stuff. I'd prefer to have a house mortgage over a tool mortgage. At worst, an extractor or splitter will do the trick and save me a few grand in fancy sockets in cost of a few headaches.

Your thinking is all whacked. A good set of Snap-on sockets and wrenches are cheap compared to all the stupid crap you get into because you fluck chit up.

True, but this is just for the street. I had a custom Specialized Rockhopper that was a fraction of the weight, but that got stolen. Ill look into something much lighter IF I decide to bike some trails.

I'll take the stupid chit and stuff with cheaper tools and use the money saved for a house and have an emergency fund when the water heater dies when it's - 14f out some night in rebruary.

Hey Russ; you got much input on a cordless string trimmer?
I know that you favor certain brands, unsure if you have first hand information on them…looking at a 40V like this one.
