Morning all! Good weekend, lot of work accomplished. Garage rebuild has started. Excavator showed up Friday, dug out behind the garage to clear the back wall. Saturday the crew showed up (2 of my brothers and a good friend).

My brothers (Jon and Dave) are twins, and worked construction with me for about 14 years until the housing crash, transitioning (don't get excited BettyZ) to manufacturing and aerospace work. Jon stuck with manufacturing and works in my inspection department. Dave has always preferred the hands on approach to construction, and ended up in the Navy Yard in Philly, but still has his eye on starting his own business. This gives him his first shot at running a job - paid him directly, let him hire who he wanted and work at figuring this stuff out.

Megan and her parents started working at landscaping the hill behind the house. Beyond clearing the ground cover, I'd guess they put in 60 plants and shrubs, pretty significant work.

I did some part resale in MD, mowed the lawn, and started rebuilding the back stairs. Top and bottom had basically disintegrated. This is my first shot at that kind of masonry work. I'd make changes to my approach if/when I do it again, but it's certainly improved.

Y’all kicked some aZZ this weekend !
Things are starting to take shape with your garage

It's still tender. It's up in the hand now too. From my finger tips to the shoulder joint. :icon14: Just aches.

Over worked the arm. Paying the price for it. It's the arm that I had surgery on. Which kind of worries me.

Sorry to hear, that would concern me also. Any kind of brace or stabilizer you can wear to limit high stress movements? I've periodically used something for tennis elbow, and I understand Zoren has something for a fairly common syndrome called spanker's wrist.

Would love to see you but I cannot have any visitors. Mainly to eliminate outside exposure to anyone or anything. It has been 28 days since I have spoken, ate or drank anything.

Occasionally I will take my pants off and stand in front of the window, but that’s about the most exposure I have had to the outside world.

Doc said in this healing phase, an exposure to any flu, cold or any disease would be serious.

Come to FL in February...

:hello::hello::hello:

Got my TuffShed delivered Thursday and then spent all day Friday moving stuff out of the garage and into it. I had to put an outlet inside for power and a connection point on the outside for the extension cord. It has a couple of 4' LED lights, one is two bulb & one is a single bulb. I need to put a couple of hangers in there for the pole saw next. :ugh2:

Anyone out in the SoCal area wanna meet up with AmuseZ to procure some craftsquare mirrors in person and ship to me? Very likely a scam since the guy wouldn't give me his rough location in Cali and said Paypal doesn't work for him. Could only accept Chase quickpay or Venmo. Neither of which offer protections. So yea.....

I of course don't know where he is in So. Cal. but if he's close and would drop them off to me, I'd be more than happy to pay him and forward them to you.

He lives in Walnut, California. Any rough ideas?

He's about 45 miles. Ask him if he's willing to drop them off in Redondo Beach. If not, Bunk might be closer to him.

Leingod 09-21-2020 02:10 PM

I'm just going to back out all together. Something about this just doesn't sit right with me if he can't use paypal. I'll let him jump through the hoops needed with someone else. Thanks for the assist though.

Can't say that I blame you. I did the same when the guy that was selling the Juke seats wanted to be paid by venmo

I must have picked something up that heavier then I should. Don't need a stabilizer or brace.

I avoid the camera whenever possible. I was on a deployment to the Big Island when I was stationed in Hawai'i from 86 to 89. Our idiot XO decided he wanted to set up the radar inside a Hawaiian cultural site..... :icon14::icon14:

Lots of pizzed off people showed up and tried to take pictures of us. Most of us hid behind sunglasses, while others just walked away. We spotted one person dropping his exposed disk and ground it into the rock.
