Got caught up in reading the back pages. You all really got some fvcked up minds. I'm the only sane one here. That's what the other voices in my head said at the staff meeting.

Good morning Z freaks,
70* now with a high of 93* and a 50% chance for rain which we need, 1/2 of the back yard looks like straw :shakes head:

Nice, your car should sound a lot less emasculated! I didn't want to be the one to call you out for it on our cruise but... :shakes head: ;)

:hello::hello::hello:

Made it home yesterday about noon, just in time to hear about Charlie Daniels. :(

It was great meeting everyone and putting faces to forum names and trying to remember everyone's real names...:ugh2:

JL, I'm not too sure, but I think Betty's car was way louder than mine at least until I get that exhaust and thanks for the RJM pedal.

Madwi, thanks for the hookup on the springs and the other stuff, plus I got permission to get the Trac Spec vents for mine. :yum::yum:

Lein, great to meet you and Susan. The cigars were great, now I've got a couple of new ones to track down. You really should consider a restaurant at some point, the food was amazing.

I had a great time and I'm glad I decided to make the trip. :driving::driving:

Yeah, but I've got to bust his balls about something!

JLarson 07-07-2020 09:31 AM

What's everyones current rec on places to shop for tires? Rears are just about down to the wear bars, and its time to start getting replacements lined up. I'll be likely going with Michelin Pilot 4s again, still on stock sport rims.

Figured you'd say something about how the F.I. is incompatible with the turbo kit I cannot live without.

im in the same boat, i need tires for both my vehicles.. sucks.:icon14::icon14:

Ghostvette 07-07-2020 09:55 AM

I hit torrential downpours from just outside Effingham IL all the way to Wentzville MO. :eekdance:

I'm glad I switched to all-seasons, the summer tires I had before were awful in the rain. It felt like the rear end was going to swing around and pass the front.

Summer tires and rain don't mix, especially when they start to get a little worn. :eekdance:

We had driven the Z up to Platte City one weekend and on the way home, hit some rain. Much over 50 MPH was a crap shoot, the rear end was super squirrelly. We bailed off the highway and took surface streets home. :icon14:

What tires were you running? I've never had issues with my P4S, part of why I'm sticking with them. On the other hand, when my Continental Extreme Contact wore to a certain point, they hydroplaned like crazy.

I don't remember. I want to say they were probably the stock Advans, but I did notice that the dealer I bought it from switched the back tires from side to side. When I got new tires, I noticed that the tread was worn on the outside, instead of the 'normal' inside. The print-out I got after the alignment showed it was within spec before they tightened it up. I don't drive the car unless it's sunny outside with no rain in the forecast after that incident. The tires I have now will let me pull the car out in the winter, provided there hasn't been any snow recently.

Leingod 07-07-2020 11:21 AM

I've been having decent luck with my firehawk 500s. Cheap decent summer tire as long as you don't do something overly stupid.

JARblue 07-07-2020 11:49 AM

Happy Tuesday everyone :hello:

Packed up madwi's racing chair sim setup to take home with me on the airplane. He was just happy for it to go away :)
