I was factoring that in. The collapse issue would not have happened had the back wall been built properly. Original construction done with hollow block on a pad. Should have been done with rebar in the block, into the pad, and block filled with concrete to make it act like a single contiguous surface. Huge difference in strength as well. Dirt was up the back wall about 5 feet.

New plan includes french drain system for the back wall to prevent some of the same build up of pressure. Between the increase in strength and the better drainage, we'll be alright. Hell, the original poor construction still lasted 50 years. I just happened to come in at the end of those 50 ;)

Hah. Don't get me wrong, I'll be happy with the final product, but not happy about that much money going out so quickly. But Megan certainly makes enough to allow her to make these kind of choices.

Pretty likely. I can't fault State Farm really, except in the general way in which I fault all insurance companies for trying to do everything they can to avoid covering their clients; they do spell out coverage clearly in their policy. That said, kind of funny they cover bear attacks and not water.

Yes, he's a lawyer, and I determine policy and procedures for a company. Both require a commanding grasp of the written English language.

I had to replace connectors on our 36 pair 'assault' cable. 72 wires that had to be labeled, tagged, desoldered, soldered and then ohm'd out.:icon14::icon14:

It was all I could do to get one done in a day. :shakes head:

Kudos to you for that one. I am now cleaning the milk off my monitor from when it shot out of my nose. Well played, sir :tiphat:

Fortunately there was no soldering involved. They're crimped into a 25 pair module. Just tedious. Back even before Rusty, they used to do twist splices with a sleeve over each twisted wire. Those guys were craftsmen. Beautiful work.
