Finally bit the bullet, got an air hammer and clutch fan removal tools, pulled the water pump on the truck last night. Pretty easy job, weird having so much space to work. I'll need to pick up a new thermostat, old one has a pretty good amount of corrosion, and getting a couple replacement radiator hoses since the old ones are starting to swell. Hopefully I'll button it back up tonight.

How's everybody doing this morning?

Ready for the weekend to begin! I might raise the rear of Z and see if I can get an alignment done, if not, rip out evap canister is on docket.

What's the goal with the evap canister delete? Weight reduction? Diff cooler? More gas fumes?

You did remember to do a factory restore on it? I'd hate for the new owner to see something they shouldn't....:inoutroflpuke::inoutroflpuke:

Lol went in for inspection again today with the new map. Now fuel system, catalytic converter, evap, and oxygen sensor read as not ready.

Maybe bc I've only driven 40 minutes, 20 miles with the new map. Think that's it?

I think I read somewhere that it takes almost an hour of driving to get all the 'nannies' to say 'yes'....

Maybe a spirited run through the South Side? :eekdance::eekdance:

I don't want to pull an EW and up-armor the Z with 400 lbs of sound deadener...

Evap canister out, intake capped off. Just need to install crankcase filter on end of fuel tank vent and plug one more hardline. Heres to the higher powers relieving me of that buzz/rattle/nasty sound.

Leingod 09-03-2020 10:21 AM

Wish the genius selling that Bride Zeta would have posted a freaking price....

madwi 09-03-2020 11:44 AM

Shes all buttoned back up. I need to talk to Gbrettin's shop about Vbands on new exhaust. I MIGHT ask about making an exhaust tip that will fit the zele rear bumper.

madwi 09-03-2020 11:50 AM

I think I might have to take her around the block. Anyone know if I can turn off check engine lights with ecutek app? Not sure if I will need to or not though.

Yes you can. Go into DTC Tool and clear them. It's temporary though. I don't think you can disable them permanently through the app.

Thats what I was thinking but wasnt sure. As long as I can clear them for the trip, thatd be cool. I need to figure out this boost solenoid mounting location and plug in. I THINK I understand what to do but not really. :icon17::icon17: I wish there was just a damn picture of it installed. I havent been able to find one.

Woke up with a hurting neck and a headache this morning. No fun.

madwi 09-03-2020 12:20 PM

Pulled wires through grommet in hatch. gotta figure out a way to close up that hole. Be a noisy ride otherwise. Maybe big blob of silicone will do the trick.

madwi 09-03-2020 12:52 PM

Ran Z for a couple minutes and no check engine or other lights. So far so good. Theres still a buzz somewhere and its gonna drive me crazy lol. I added a silicone license plate surround so we'll see if that helps any.
