:hello:

I'z up.

The day is not starting off so good. :icon14: Wifey got a text last night around 3am from the motorhome renter. They was trying to load up the motorhome with their stuff. They couldn't unlock the storage doors on the bottom. With all of the BS talk before he left to head home. I forgot to give him the other set of keys. The bad part, they live about 90 miles away. So wifey is going to meet them half way with the keys.

I'm going to. They have great reviews and the few people I know with them are really happy with them.

Not sure if I'm getting the 72" or the 56" with an end locker and the option to add a 16" end cabinet down the road.

I did see one on Craigslist more your style. 56" snap-on, 3 months old, 7k new asking 3k. It didn't last long though

I’d rather break parts or take body damage than have to clean my Jeep after “muddin’ “. Rather none of the above but still...

Need to pick up a beater tj and use that for muddin cause it is good fun and save my baby from the rust monster.

And so after some thought, I have decided to go with the surgery... Without any other real choices, I am going for it...

Doc said it will be a bitch, but the last 6 people they did this to all lived and they were all older than me and in poor shape. The surgical team up there thinks I’m the best candidate to survive this.

August 25th is the 10 hour surgery. They said that after they cut open the side of my throat and remove the cancery stuff, they will use a 5” x 5” square of flesh off of my right forearm to make a new Epiglottis. They said I will stay in a sleep for about 5 days in intensive care and then progress to the regular care. Eventually 2 months of rehab to learn to speak and eat...

Wish me luck,...

Spoiler, good luck man, we are all pulling for you, I’m sure you’ll come out on the other side better than ever.

Perhaps when you’re healed up and the pandemic is over we should all come out and take you for some tasty bacon. :yum: I’ll buy your first round bud. :tiphat:

The upstairs master bedroom needs paint and some cosmetic work. The basement needs a thorough dusting. The kitchen needs a deep clean for sure. The house needs gutters, dry-lock the basement, and a dehumidifier put in place. But other than that, everything looks good. Until we get the report back from the home inspection....

Dry lock is good to treat the symptom in the interior of the basement but the cause can only be dealt with by waterproofing the exterior of the foundation. Ie, dig up he ground, slather on the black tar looking waterproofing stuff add the plastic paneling thingys on top and of course make sue the land is graded away from the house so water runs away from the foundation, not into it. Make sure your gutter downspout kick outs are long enough to shed the water far enough away from the walls and if necessary add French drains to move the water away from your perimeter.

If your adding gutters, the lack of them MAY be the primary cause of your foundation/basement moisture issues, if you’re lucky. Ask your gutter guy how he plans to put up the gutters and how that will control runoff, poorly done gutters are as bad or worse than no gutters. Also, depending on your roof shape etc, make sure the gutters don’t cause accelerated erosion on a part of your asphalt shingles, you’d want a downspout there to take the pressure off that section of roofing.

I'll be doing a deep review of the policy for loopholes. Regarding rainfall, I'm not sure, but we're only about 5 miles from Upper Darby as the crow flies, so I'd imagine a similar amount. Put it this way - driving home, police had shut down I476 and a number of other local roads due to flooding, and I can't recall the last time that happened. That's saying nothing of the debris - rocks and trees - that came down. I felt like I was driving through an obstacle course.

The insurance co is probably going to tell you it was the ground giving way not high winds that caused the wall to collapse, that is not covered by normal policy usually only by a “catastrophic ground collapse “ rider/amendment. Even a sinkhole rider wouldn’t cover that possibly, not 100% sure on that one tho.

Do you have fema flood insurance? That might help as far as any water damage from the storm and associated water intrusion.

Was a federal disaster declaration made for your area, that can help improve chances for getting help as well?

i just grabbed the cheapo HF/amazom Chicago electric to see how things go.

first try was a 6/10. Couple of meh spots but over all not bad. I need to up the air a bit to get better coverage but that will require some better powder containment. It took too long to cure out too, need to up the oven temp a bit. A little trial and error and Ill have small parts down:tup:
