Morning fellas, MsPint (not a fella) and BettyZ (ambiguous gender pronoun preferred)! I hope you have a great Friday. Heading to Maine tonight for a few days, staying on an island and enjoying the finest life had to offer circa 1920 (island is a throwback - oil lamps, gas refrigeration, outhouses).

I'd have to talk to the team lead in that area, but if there were interested persons here who were either ok with our stock color selection or were willing to supply their own, we could probably do it for you. I wouldn't suggest it with wheels or something external and with a very high degree of cosmetic importance, since we're not climate controlled (the powder is very hygroscopic and there is a lot of variation in warm humid weather), but for engine bay components or stuff from your undercarriage, it'd look great. |
Good morning friends!:hello:Got a shi*load of work today.:ugh2:Everyone have a great day!:tup:

Morning itcheZ! TGIMFF. Heat index of 105 today. Tint comes tomorrow so I can dim the bright-AF high-beam indicator. Might mess around with trying the rear taillights too. Stuff was only 5 bucks so why not?

:hello::hello::hello:
Forecast for a miserable 3 days.....:shakes head::shakes head: Air temp 95* + humidity at almost 100% = heat index of almost 110* :gtfo2: I may run away this weekend...... head for someplace cooler......:driving::driving::driving: |
My left knee is giving me heck. I may be crawling back to my orthopedic Dr. real soon. Freaking sucks.

Had the valve stem on the truck tire replaced yesterday. Brand new defective part. UGG. Looked at the trailer and I had some blue wires hanging. Somehow, I ripped the trailer brake wires off the drivers rear axle. LOL I have never torn up
so much stuff in one trip. |
Afternoon everyone, and happy Friday! Woke up and went straight to the auto parts store. Secured my first ever jack and jack stands today. Also got some never dull, wheel cleaner, and rain-x, so I'll be spiffing up the car tonight over a few drinks.
Took pictures of the sport rays for two quotes: what it would cost to fix a couple of smudges here and there on the whole set, and what it would cost to get a deep bronze or King Sport powdercoat (or other). I'm probably going to stick with just the touch-up, but you never know. Hope everyone is doing well this fine, hot as sh!t summer day. |
Usually it runs ~$100 per wheel for powder coating.

That include dismounting/mounting the tires back? |

The biggest pushback for me personally, on powdercoating the Rays, is that I'm sitting here with absolutely zero suspension/wheel work. To powdercoat on a stock set up seems silly to me. However, King Sport isn't all that flashy and still looks beautiful.

I did something stupid. I had some water spots on my intake tubes from the trackspec vents. I didnt wipe them off and then next time I washed the car I used the Gyeon Wet coat which is a spray on sealant used when rinsing off the car. It coated the pipes and sealed in the water spots. :icon17: Couldnt figure out why it wasnt wiping off with all purpose cleaner or even with metal polish. :icon17:

Thats the face I made when I used the metal polish on a 3" compounding pad and it didnt phase it one bit.
