Closing on my first home today!

I haven't been around much lately due to my new job. But my new position has enabled me to be able purchase my first home. I'm buying the house that I grew up in from my parents for a very good price below market value. I was able to use the equity in the appraised value of the house to put 20% down in order to avoid PMI.

Congratulations. And good job on avoiding that PMI. Owning your own home is definitely a huge step toward complete financial maturity.

I actually have posted a picture of it already.

My wife and I have been living in the house for over a year now. We moved into my parents house with the intentions of buying it.

And no, We don't live with my parents! lol

Thanks guys. The only thing that I wish the house had was a garage. Unfortunately, there isn't enough room on the lot to build one either.

Seriously? Looks like there is a great deal of space right there.

The lot is only 1/4 acre. There isn't enough room on either side of the house for a garage. I don't think that I would want to add the garage in front of the house.
