Are you putting some type of moisture barrier on that OSB (with the plywood spacers, of course) as soon as you put it on so it doesnt get wet and warp or swell up?

You done bumped your head, that stuff doesn’t get puffy, but gonna keep it covered until I install it & then I’ll paper it :tiphat:

jchammond 04-10-2020 04:19 AM

Takes many moons for that stuff to move around/ if left unattended :iagree:
But will install with 1/8” gap between each sheet

Yes, I have bumped my head, plenty of times...

Remember to have some extra 2x4s available in case you need a sister when things don't align quite well enough...

You mean with center spaced 1/8” spacers right?

Them spacers help stiffen up the spanned areas too so you can dance on the roof with a big girl if needed...

jchammond 04-10-2020 04:22 AM

asht, how old is your house?
From pics I’ve seen,appears to be easily 100yrs :ugh2:

I only nention the proper use of spacers and offsetting of the roof sheets so you don’t get the roof started backwards...

House was built in the 1600's. :icon14:

The oldest house that I lived in was a Sears Four Square built in the 1920's. The house I'm in now is the same age as me. 64 years old.
