Hopefully things will change for you. Our Governor announced yesterday that elective surgeries could start up again on May 1. Make sense to me. Sterile environments and no one is going to be operated on that is sick!

My brothers friend in Peoria was admitted to the Hospital this past weekend. He stopped eating and couldnt walk. Not sure if it was an ER visit or not though. Its been an ongoing issue with him. He had a colonoscopy and bloodwork done.

Well, my shift starts at 7 and I guess I should go lay down and think about this for the next five and half hours. :icon17:

Is night shift tech work NEEDED? maybe. I have a feeling my working from home these past few weeks was a test of how it would go without support staff onsite.

Good IS staff is invaluable. You may get cut for awhile until something catastrophic happens and you will be back.

Sorry to hear that. It is crazy times. One of my racing buddies actually broke his foot at the last track event two days before the shutdown here. His wife is a nurse manager for Banner and he works in facilities. He was put on furlough and told that he needed surgery on his foot but it would have to wait until they could figure out heads or tails of the COVID crisis. He finally got it about a couple of weeks later.

Did you take it? Sounds like a trap to me...

My God that sucks. You think they'd really put your name on the chopping block for mandatory furlough? If any of us can help out, just let us know. I'll bring the damn beer for July. Haha

I can bring some Boulevard Wheat & Pale Ale with me.

Isnt there a possibility that broken bones will fuse improperly if its not treated right away?

one positive about taking it is they pay benefits through July. If mandatory furlough, its 60 days but you pay their cost of the insurance then switch to cobra.

Id take voluntary, but its weeks to get unemployment started plus the extra $600 goes away in July, takes hours every week to go through to put in your claim. ugh. Maybe I should do voluntary and get used to the system before it possibly and most likely becomes mandatory layoff.

Not sure how it is in the far north but in IL UI filing takes maybe 15 min the first time you file. 5 min every time after unless you have address/ job/dependency changes to make. And bi-weekly filing is less than a min. All done online or over the phone via an automated system. A phone call to claim weeks is a little longer than online but it's no more than 5 min.
