i would have to assume they went right into the driver door if they had minor injuries and he's dead.

also i saw it was a GTR that the owner built like it was a civic with cheap stuff hence why the tuner was having to do work.

Sure looked like it was on a straight section of the road. But I guess you can't really tell from the photo in that one article.
