Yeah, as Betty says, it's got locking mechanisms. As long as you have the locks on it can't actually fall. Regarding 2, I'm not sure in what world jack stands are better. A lift, yes. Jack stands, no.

I was saying that I much rather have the car on a 4-post lift so I can stand underneath the car, rather than using jack stands and laying on my back.

How long is enough before I go to the shop to ask for my $600 back I prepaid for a tune?

Respect for the deceased, but business is also business. You paid for a service that is not going to be completed, therefore, you have every right to ask for a refund. And IMO, the sooner you ask, the better.

I was legit calling him Monday and just my luck this happens. Sucks he passed but now I feel like a diick calling to ask for my money back.

Calling about getting a refund is no problem, and as long as you go about the right way, I personally don't think there is an issue. In retrospect, let's say the shop performed services for you, and for whatever reason, you went through a financial crisis. I'm pretty sure they would empathize, but they would also still come collecting.

The other option is, provided you are planning to continue doing business with that shop, let it be known that you have a $600 credit and for it to be applied for future services.

When you call them, inquire them what is the "alternative" of the $600 you paid.

4 post lift is indeed superior!

I mean. He's not going to know you're asking for it back...

Solid point. Nor will he be able to tune the car if I wanted it.

With all the stuff going on I decided to put modding on hold see what money looks like when this stuff calms down. Rather have a surplus if needed.

curious how did he die in the customer car...

I'll be quite haunted if I am the customer who owns the car, tbh... :wtf2:
