the course went above and beyond as well. carts were already in the parking lot spread out with personal parking space next to it, all employees gloved up and keeping away, only allowed 2 people in the clubhouse at a time to pay. seemed pretty well ran set up.

also the raised cup thing was a surprise but very smart move.

The clubs open here don't allow anyone in the clubhouse. Reserve online, pay online, walk up to window and they check your name off the list for your tee time. Carts waiting for you in the parking lot.

Agree on the raised cup idea. Smart

places have been diligent with safety precautions (employees with gloves, single person per cart, etc...) and i would love to golf but i feel like it's irresponsible maybe?

i mean we wont be close to each other, wipe down the carts with lysol wipes, they altered course to have raised cups so no touching flag sticks or inside the cups.

i mean how risky is it really? i know the 3 other guys i'd be going with.

i'm at a loss. am i being a good citizen by thinking its a dumb idea or is it just over-cautious and overthinking?

Overthinking. As long as you're taking reasonable precautions you'll be fine. Try not to lick any doorknobs or other humans.

just wouldnt mind a little sunshine and hitting a golf ball.

There's a pretty sweet driving range that's open here as well. It's a big facility with a number of short distance options, so they offer free push carts for your bag for the walk to the long distance hitting range. Clubhouse is closed and carts are not available. To pay, they have an iPad with a credit card swipe (no cash) - you just swipe your card and don't have to touch anything. Might check it out on Sunday :)

It's just golf. I wouldn't go. You'll survive another month or so not playing. My league was suppose to start on the 9th and that's been put on hold. If everything else is on lock down, you can be to for a bit. If I need to be outside, I go hangout on my porch or backyard and have a cigar or drink. No contact is even better than minimal contact.

Make your own. Flour, warm water, mash in some room temp butter, mix, proof for an hr or whatever, cut into small balls, roll flat, and toss in a skillet for a few seconds.

this isnt gonna be over in a month.

this is gonna continue for a bit and most likely will be a round 2 in the winter again if it is just gonna become another seasonal thing. nothing will be over until they are able to test more people and develop a good vaccine.

I was in the same predicament a couple of weeks ago. A bunch of my buddies were gonna meet and play golf. I backed out because it would have been hypocritical of me to tell my wife that she needs to stay home from work because of COVID and then I go out and take an unnecessary risk. I guess that is the moral dilemma, you give away your whining rights about others that don't follow the precautions as provided to us.

I should clarify I play golf by myself for the most part. If I go meet someone. It is only one other person that I know is being responsible and taking things seriously. I'd probably pass on a group of people that wanted to play. Seen at least one 7some on the course pretty much every round I've played :shakes head:

just check them for any dry rot and should be fine.

Agreed! I didn't put any hard miles on those tires either as I saved that kind of driving for the track.
