That’s a huge manual for a lift. When we put on Chuck’s two-post it was like a single page front and back.

My dad didnt have a will, so when he passed away, we didnt get anything. His wife (fkn b1tch!!!) kept everything. All I wanted was his Air Force stuff and his shadow box when he retired. As a kid, I grew up spit shining his boots, starching/pressing his uniforms and helping him inspect his dress blues when needed. I didnt get sh1t. None of us did. :gtfo2:

For my parents divorce. My mother was a vindictive witch. Stay at home women who never wanted to get a job and lived off my dad. Chain smoked so hard the entire house was yellow.

Anyways, divorce time comes and she is so manipulative that she gets the entire house, kids, cars, and items along with my dad only getting to see us every other Tuesday.

My dad got his sofa from college, a small popcorn machine, and his video recorder. She managed to even keep his wedding ring.

She now owns nothing and lives with her mom while I haven't personally talked or seen her in over a decade.

That's pretty awful. Part of why I waited so long to get married - I wanted to stack the deck against divorce. The financial impact is tremendous, to say nothing of the emotional side.

I got lucky. She was dumb. We split things like linens and kitchen stuff. She got one bedroom furniture set and our nice mattress and she got to keep her retirement. I paid for the lawyer (uncontested divorce) and kept the house, the Z, all the china and crystal, electronics, etc...

I set her up with an older stereo and speakers, TV and some basic tools when she moved into her new place. Ran into her almost 2 years later and she asked me about splitting up the crystal and china :icon14: I changed the topic without any real discussion, but if she ever brings it up again I'm gonna shove the divorce decree in her face and tell her to eat big back of dìcks; I'm pretty sure that's what she wanted anyway

Don't need a divorce if you don't get married

:hello::hello::hello:

Dropped off my chitbox last night for Honda to do the inflator on the passenger side airbag. Turns out, there were 2 more recalls that had to be done.

And of course, they sent a laundry list of things to be done: cabin filter (I just put in new ones in January), front struts ($1900, hell that's what I paid for the car), change the transmission fluid (oh hell no, that's the fast way for the trans to quit) and about half a dozen more things. :roflpuke2:

5 years with Susan and no marriage yet. She already knows that if the time comes, we are both signing pre nups first. Haha. I'm not dealing with fallout if something ever happens in the distant future.

Very true. But done right, marriage is forming an alliance with a powerful person and reducing your workload in some areas (though you pay for it in others). I have very few regrets, and a whole lot of benefits.

If you are with someone you still have to be careful. Common law marriage will still get you even without a marriage license. And you have to lay groundwork... make sure anyone and everyone knows you don't plan to get married. One witness that says you talked about proposing and bam... you're married in the eyes of the law.

When I got divorced, the court gave her her personal effects and a car. I got everything else (house, bank/retirement accts, etc). I even ended up getting custody of the kid (who I adopted the month before the divorce). She left a bunch of personal stuff and said she would be back to get it - after a year, me and some buddies had a nice bonfire. :)

And I even got some child support for a few years.

Back from the dealership. They couldn't find any codes. When I started the truck this morning. The CEL was out. So no hard faults was set. I ordered a new crankshaft position sensor to be on the safe side. As this is the 3rd time it has done it. But this is the first time I could pull a code.

You're one of the few who has made out. You're lucky. I've had friends get totally wiped out.

Thanks for the corrections. I just looked to see if the dates were close. The particular strain that caused the pandemic wasn't something I considered all that important. But I still should have checked.

My point was: We have seen similar pandemics in the US before. The more recent ones were not as bad but still severe enough to act as a warning.
