The pics here are the outer boards just used for a 1.5” spacer; plan to put the form boards against these & remove these spacer boards afterwards :ugh2:
But after looking hard at it....wondering if it’s gonna be a peckerhead getting concrete all around the post & to the outside that 1.5”
Could have the concrete just inside the 6x6’s & then use solid cement blocks between the 6x’s all the way around, as when garage is let down to resting point, it will be bolted back to the 6x’s to hold in place.
Thought’s and any other idears welcome :ugh2:
Or either delete the concrete from going to outside of 6x posts & risking breaking off that piece....:ugh2:
I know there’s plenty ways to skin this puss

Question. Did you use ground contact treated wood?

Avg price of a super bowl ticket. $6,000 each. So 2 tickets, hotel, meals, travel = about $16,000+. :shakes head:

Ground contact everywhere; but need to quit watching some of these videos, as they speak of even the ground contact post rotting off in the concrete :shakes head:

You should. The approach really needs to be a separate pour with expansion and rebar pegs. This lets the approach hinge with the floor without damaging anything.

I'd also pour the approach about 1/2" below the top of the floor. Helps keep wind driven rain from blowing under the door.

Thanks for that reply :tiphat: as you post up some tools I’ve never even heard of :ugh2:

Morning guys. Feels weird having the day off for this holiday. Never experienced it outside of school before. I waved to Susan as she got in her car to head to work. I'm going to crawl back into bed and take a nap nap.

Good morning folks!:hello:

God-Speed 01-20-2020 07:33 AM

Good Monday Morning All. Hit the gym early this morning to get the week off to a great start. The Stage is set with the Chiefs vs 49ers. As of now, Vegas has the Chiefs -1.0, not sure what he over/under is. The Mrs and I will be in Vegas this weekend so will have to see what the odds are when we get into town. I don't bet on games but just might do it this time. :ugh2: Anyway hope you all have a great MLK day and please be safe out there!!

Again I’m in need of a sketch or something showing what your end goal is for the columns and slab.

High level, 1.5” is not going to be enough cover on the outside of those columns. That **** is going to crack and ultimately break off.
