Okay all you Woodworkers out there :hello:
I have a tech question :ugh2:
I’ve noticed that the 1/2” diameter zinc plated carriage bolts I’ve been using on my box are rusting rather quickly on the surface contacting the treated lumber
Perhaps I should have gotten the dull finish dipped galvanized bolts instead :icon14:
Any input on this is appreciated; as I’ve removed some bolts to install longer or shorter ones & noticed the rust/corrosion on the shanks :shakes head: :ugh2:
Thanks :tiphat:

:hello:

I'z up.

Working 9 to 1 today.

Come home a trying to finish up working on the motorhome. Fixing the broken water line in the slide out outside kitchen. Talk about tight spaces. :shakes head: Had to cut out a section of hidden wall. :shakes head:

You'll want the galvanized. The treated lumber will corrode the other, as you're already seeing.

Good Tuesday Morning All. Already had coffee and gym time the morning. :happydance: The weather here in Austin has not been great the last couple of days with Fog through the afternoon with drizzle. But the temps have bee ok with the highs in the 65-75 range with a chance of rain every day this week. :shakes head: Anyway hope you all have a good one and be safe out there!!

I've never seen you both in the same place; you may actually BE Jar, posting under an assumed name!

Or you might be giving ambien-inspired blowjobs. I'm not your doctor, I just play one for money.

:iagree:

Not just the bolts but all nails and screws as well.

Not sure what you plan to use for siding but if you go with metal sheeting you will need something between the treated lumber and the sheeting. It will eat the metal away in a short time if you have contact.

Anyone know of another grounding kit other than the Stillen kit?

JARblue 01-14-2020 10:10 AM

Was excited to finally do a wire tuck in the engine bay. I bought a bunch of loom awhile back only to find out the product they sent me and the product I purchased were not the same. The loom they sent won't hold up to the engine bay temps.

I re-loomed the entire engine bay with Alex Tech looms off Amazon a year ago. No melting or other issues.

I've seen nothing that says it's worth it. If you want to look pretty though in the video get a dress up kit with that $

Gonna grab the Stillen grounding kit and paint it.

JARblue 01-14-2020 11:50 AM

Amazon can go to hell :hello:

I contacted the company about the mistake with my previous order and they gave me a 30% off coupon for another order. We'll see. There are lots of options out there.

Rusty 01-14-2020 01:42 PM

I'z home with a nasty bump on the head. :shakes head: Was closing a door at work and it fell, hitting me in the head. That's the hardest I've been hit in a long time. My head hurts and my neck is a little stiff.

The door was made out of a 4x8x3/4 plywood. The hinges was mounted a 2x4 that was mounted to metal racking. They used self-tapping screws about 3" long to hold the 2x4 in place. When I shut the door. The 2x4 split at the top. The weight of the door was just too much for the rest of the screws. It all came down on top of me.

I have them over a barrel if anything happens. I got pictures.

I'm still waiting on something that I ordered the beginning of Dec. :shakes head:

Yeah, your [mom/sister/girlfriend/wife] really should have opted for less silicone in her boob job, but that's what happens when you get work done in Guatemala...

Sorry about the black eye...

And it was my sister. Funny, that's the first time you've suggested less is more.

Buen dia senor. :tiphat:

AT&T called me just now. About my cancelled DirecTV account. LOL

She offered to waive my last bill of $152. Funny because I had already made sure I wasn't going to pay that bill. I have audio recording of them confirming I have no remaining balance, which I provided to my credit card company when I asked them to deny any future attempts at charging my card made by AT&T or DirecTV.

Finished working on the motorhome. Got the water line repaired. That took 2 days to do. So now doing some lazyboy living. From sitting, my neck is a little stiff. My jaw getting stiff. Bump on head is about 3" long, 1" wide, and 3/4" high with a cut running a long the length of it. :shakes head:
