Drove the Z to work friday. Pulled an almost 8 and skate. Then drove to Topeka :icon14::ugh2:

Visited the Mrs. oldest daughter in Manhattan KS Saturday morning then :driving: through Lake of the Ozarks.

From Topeka to St Robert MO we ditched the interstate and took mostly 2 lane roads.

Stopped at the Uranus Fudge Factory The best fudge comes from Uranus if you didn't know:ugh2:

Got a good nights sleep on the cheep at the Baymont then took a trip through Mark Twain National forest this morning.

Grabbed some lunch then :driving: to home:icon14: 1300+ miles in 3 days:rock:

Solid mileage! Mark Twain NF has some seriously epic roads. One of the state roads that runs parallel to and right next to the KS-MO border has some serious hillage, used to get some good vertical G's at the bottoms in my 350Z. Not confident my Nismo could handle those without bottoming out.

Got the DC Power High Output 250 amp alternator and new 1/0 battery cables installed on the Power Wagon. Now I don't have to worry when using the winch.

That took kind of one noise. But I still have another noise in the motor. Thinking it's #7 + #8 lifters and cam lobes. :shakes head: Common problem when getting close to 100,000 miles. Lucky I have a Life Time Warranty on the powertrain.

I took 17 out of Buckhorn then took 32 to Park Hills. We will be going back to hit a few more of the back roads in that area. Great roads :driving: and cheap gas. I filled up with 93 no ethanol for $2.79 a gal, had to fill up back in the land of corruption for $3.99 for 93 octane 90/10 :shakes head:

Pretty much everything outlined in black is recommended.

Talimena National Scenic Byway is somewhat southwest of Mark Twain NF, it's Arkansas 88 and Oklahoma 1. That is HIGHLY recommended. Runs along the ridge of the highest continental land mass between the Appalachians and the Rockies. I've driven it 4 or 5 times, lovely technical driving road. I'd recommend starting the road at dawn-ish; once you get into mid-morning hours you may be held up on the road by swarms of motorcycle-riding retirees. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...df91d63601.jpg

Last day in Paris, off to Rouen shortly. Yesterday we did about 15 miles of walking, visited the Louvre, the ruins of the cathedral at Notre Dame, and the Trocadero (park overlooking the Eiffel Tower). Despite what you may have heard, the people are very nice even with my very limited French.

Had to run to the office in Savannah, just got back. Mandatory evacuations starts Tuesday Morning. Traffic tomorrow getting out of the Savannah area will be a nightmare. Ugg. I hate Hurricanes.

The wind speeds have dropped just a little; Sustained/Gust are pretty even with your 5th/6th gear pulls

Power is out. Had some big storms move though last night. They put on a good light show. Got a couple of inches of rain too.

Happy Labor Day everyone :hello:

My buddy's pregnant wife had labor induced at 3 am this morning. How appropriate :icon17: Or maybe not?

Went to look at another house. 3 bed, 1 bath. Attached single stall garage. Asking price is 120k. Been on the market for over a month. It's a 100k house at best. May make an offer at 95k just to entertain the idea.

To all of our members in FLA and the SE US Coast, my prayers are with you for the next few days while this Hurricane situation plays out. Best of luck and stay safe!
