Be a busy day. Got 4 new Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires for the Grand Cherokee. Ordered parts for the motorhome. Weed whacked, then cut the grass. Still have to do the bills yet.

So what is the limit? I believe OnZ is the highest.

Everyone who has maxed out, is at a different number. :icon14: When you get around 2,684,xxx, you are there or close to it.

Stations are checked, logs are filled out, locker cleaned out, & my keys are turned in :happydance:

It's kinda of weird doing everything thing for the last time

The last day is really weird. It's a strange feeling. In about a week. You'll wake up one day and get yourself ready to go to work. Then you realize that you don't have to go. :rofl2:

Yup. Just boarded. Should land around 130 pm. Since i don't sleep on planes very well, going to be a long day 😉 I'll normalize by Monday.

Ending this workweek with lots of uncertainty, anticipation, heartfelt words to He Who Makes That Which Has Been Made, and animal sacrifices to any pagan gods who might also be listening (just kidding, Boss.)

11% RIF this week. More cuts are coming. I was unaffected, and was told I will remain unaffected. Higher actually used the phrase "Last of the Mohicans" lol.

That being said, I learn next week whether I get a new job @ the Bank as a higher level of Investigator, working terrorism finance, drug & human trafficking, internal concerns, all the really meaty stuff. Very stiff competition for this role but I'm confident.

If that turns out not to be, I'll be looking for greener pastures, which is unfortunate as while pay and advancement opportunities elsewhere may be better, you can't really get 'greener' than my current 7 minute commute for the 2 days per week that I dont work from home...

But we shall see.

Very nice!! Enjoy the fleeting moments in the next few weeks were you feel that nothing 'needs' to be done. Then dread the bs after where you can't help but feel like doing shìt... Hope you can keep enjoying life and positivity beyond 'work' :tiphat:

JARblue 08-31-2019 12:33 AM

Whether working or not... I'm committed to my Z. Whether it's working or not. Whether I'm working or not. One of the true joys in my heart will always be my Z and this community.

Sleep?? I've been cut off on just about every single international flight I've been on :tiphat:

The female flight attendants either gave me a bottle of bubbly (Champagne on the British/French flights and Prosecco on the Italian flights) or a fat kiss on the lips at the end of the flight! I love Europeans lol :rofl2:

Winning 3-1, Texas volleyball looked less than stellar tonight vs Northern Iowa State. Certainly not living up to the #4 national ranking. Matchups with #14 USC on Sat and #3 Minnesota on Weds will be a real test for sure!

JARblue 08-31-2019 12:51 AM

Texas football is looking at a similar start to the season. First game against Louisiana Tech University will provide an opening game practice. But the next one vs Loser State University (LSU) will be a much more telling test :yikes:

:rofl2: small fry compared to the pension shortfalls -we're talking new-aircraft-carrier $$ on that.

It's complicated, but basically structural policy/procedure changes moved most of our work to Sri Lanka. Which, frankly, was the right business move. Whether or not our Federal overlords concur remains to be seen. I'm not a regulator; can not and will not speak for them.

I can and will say that going from 40+ hours OT/week to zero sucks. It's like, well, now I have all this time to mod the Z, but no $ to mod with.

Still planning on going FI within the next 18 months tho.

BettyZ 08-31-2019 02:29 AM

Also spent four hours today schlepping the GF's belongings to her new apt, one floor beneath her old one. She has more shoe boxes than I have sockets + wrenches.

Everyone has their hobby I suppose...

Y’all up late :ugh2:
I’m just getting out the sack for a fishing trip
Put poles away last night/ as my cat was trying to help with the line :icon14:
I’d rather do it fresh anyway.....going down a couple sizes on the braid ~ Picked up Pops & myself a few different # strength rolls
Then get trolling motor battery ready,scales,cooler,tackle,etc.....just a joy :happydance:

When I worked for Elliott. It was feast or famine. 12 hr days, 7 days a week for months, or 40 hrs a week with no OT with a chance of getting laid off. You learn to live with the 40 hr pay and used the OT when you got it to help pay down your bills.

jchammond 08-31-2019 02:49 AM

I’ll let him make decision on which of the 2-ponds to fish,,,haven’t been out in other pond w/Jon boat yet :excited:
I’ll try & do better with pictures today; should be Pops turn to catch the Biggest & most
As I do him exactly the way he did me as a youngster,,,he always would guide the boat & put me in position for potentially best cast
I get a great joy watching him pull them in; at 84yrs of age ~ he can still gitter done :tiphat:

When my first wifey past away. I dug out 88 pairs of shoes from the one closet. Some never been on her feet. :shakes head: Found clothes hanging up with the tags still on them. :shakes head: She had purses that I never seen before. :shakes head: And I paid for all of it.
