Well Good News/Bad News...

First the bad... wife told me yesterday that I should find some new friends...

And now the good... when I turned on the computer this morning, I got an email that some Russian girls all want to be friends with me... and oddly enough they are all from my area...

I think I am going to get my son a EVH head or Combo for his birthday this year. Your opinion?

Head is always good!

Depends on what he's using it for. Playing live shows? Head is a good choice, although if they are small shows, he can probably get away with the 50 Watt. Bedroom jamming? Combo, head will be too loud. I'd recommend you listen to both though, because sometimes Combo amps with an open back sound much worse by comparison to a larger closed back cabinet + head.

Don't know how much experience you have in this area, so if I'm telling you stuff you know already, please feel free to ignore me! As you push tubes harder (volume up), the tubes start to naturally distort, getting a unique resonance and tone. Since that drastically affects the sound you're getting, it's really nice to have a wattage that matches your space and tolerance for noise. I find that even my 5 Watt tube amp is deafeningly loud when cranked up for bedroom jamming. In a practice space trying to play over a drummer and needing more head room, 45W or 50W may be a good choice. For a larger live gig, maybe you'd want 100W but even for small venues, 45 or 50W should be adequate. Note that this doesn't apply for solid state amps, for various reasons which I won't get into here.

literally on titleist's website thinking if it's time for a new driver or not.....

It was good just to loosen up. I will sometimes peruse golf galaxy and act interested in a driver just so I can mess around in the simulator. Our league starts in April. I highly doubt the snow will be gone by then.

As for looking at new drivers, I wouldn't bother. Save the money for more car parts. My Nike sasquatch hits just as far as a m2 still.

yea i plan on hitting up top golf soon to shake some rust before going all out on the course.

last year i was going once a week and played in like 5 or 6 tournaments.

as for drivers, i want the titleist TS2 to replace my 917.

They are just finishing a new Top Golf about a mile down the street from where I work at... I may have to linger on over there myself some day soon...

I wish we had a top golf here. Looks wicked fun. We just have an 80 yard inflatable dome. You'll be out playing before me at the amount of snow still coming in CNY.

its a great time. they opened the one by me last summer. been there 4 times so far. even hit the orlando one with huck when i was there in december.

i have a dome in the university sports complex where i play hockey. think it's about 1500-200 yards deep. they fit 3 small soccer fields in it when it's not being used as a driving range.

i'm happy that this weekend it bumps into 40s and doesn't show anything lower for a bit.

Looking at their website just now, and I was surprised to see it notes 325 FT and PT jobs because of it... dang that is a lot more then I would have guessed..

Yea. Was getting tired of using beard oil. Way to shiny for me and the scents were overpowering. Switched to balms and finally got bored with unscented. Picked up a vanilla cigar blend and the caramel mocha. Both smell really good and offer a decent amount of hold. Definately hipstery, but as long as I stay away from beanies and apple products.... I should hopefully be fine.

How long before this house will be done and will there be enough street parking available for about 30 Z’s showing up for the house warming party?

I know you will have one and I know I can make it because I’m only about 3-1/2 hrs away. The others may have to stay over a few nights before and after if their trip is longer then mine

Pretty much they just had some of the supplies delivered that are now in the front yard.

We discussed signs of austism with his doctor a few months back and she gave us a few referrals to get some testing done to see if anything else could be the cause. So far we've done vision and today's visit. Wednesday will be hearing.
Today's doc wants to see him in 6 months but thinks it's something he will grow out of.
