Spent 20 minutes on my father in law doing CPR on him before the EMT's showed up for him. :( He died sitting in his lazyboy talking to my first wife.

I'm 0 for 2 doing CPR.

Believe it or not I'll still have my blue cross for life as this is part of my package !
I'm very lucky and if for any reason I lose it, I can jump on to my wife's blue cross policy for $119 a month. She's a retired public school teacher.
Under my present contract there's no copy, impossible to believe I know, but true.

Question.... That comic strip Andy Capp... Was his name supposed to be a play on the phrase Handy Cap? I never read that comic strip so I wouldnt know.

old guy 03-11-2019 10:16 PM

Don't know if you remember but when Red Foxx passed, he was on set of his new sitcom and had a massive heart attack and was clutching his heart, and his cast members thought he was doing his Fred Sanford act !
He was a funny man

I don't think so only because it goes back to the 50s and back then handy cap people were generally know as cripples, a couple of decades before the pc police were on the scene

When I retired. I got on Obombo Care. That was $1,800 per month for both of us. Wifey turned 65 and got on medicare. I stayed on Obombo Care for a couple of months after. And it was over $900 just for me. Then I got on a christian health based health care. It's $500 per month. If I would have stayed on Obombo Care. It would have been $1,100 per month this year.

I've read your posts on that and if I wasn't able to retain my insurance, I would have certainly looked in to that !

Rusty,

I have seen you mentioning this insurance before. What is the name of it, or a website I can check out? I’m thinking about dragging up within a month, and though I can stay on my present employers’s insurance through the Cobra rules for 18 months, it is awful insurance and it will be more then $500 anyhow

My wife has her own insurance, but I will need something for me....

Let me know here or PM me the info.

Thanks,

Roadcall was on side of I-77 with a 425/65/22.5 steer tire...not that bad with the aluminum Alcoa’s - so it was probably the off road tires :ugh2:

Spoiler 03-12-2019 04:03 AM

How do you keep the vehicles flying down the highway from hitting you when you are on a roadcall like that? Damn be careful...

There was a second fire truck parked a short distance behind it; angled from shoulder to right lane & truck i was working on same....I drove on shoulder past & parked in front. Stone lights on & Highway Patrol was another 100yds ahead with his lights on. Traffic was a bit slow in the 2 left lanes :wtf2:

I always see people working on the roadside and hope they don’t get squashed. Quite a few drivers do not care about the safety of others, as you know...
