Unfortunately this position would be starting over in the exact same thing I'm doing. But if they offer more $$$ then it would be worth it.

Supposed to poop on company dime.

‘Boss makes a dollar. I make a dime. That’s why I poop on company time!’

Or the Dos XX version

‘I don’t always have to poop at 5 o’clock on a Friday, but when I do I wait until Monday.’

I love the color on the toyota, goes good with the chrome.

If you want to pull a 28ish trailer you will want a diesel dually. Bob's 24ft trailer squatted his truck really good. My suggestion would be this. If you get a 18' to 20' enclosed trailer you could use a 1500 maybe. It won't be very comfortable. I would recommend at least a 2500 for 20' or above. 28' is dually territory. You want to be comfortable towing. So go a little bigger and you will save yourself a ton of headache down the road. Wear and tear on the truck is a major issue. It is expensive to run a diesel. Upkeep and maintenance can be killer. Just my .02.

Proper anti-seize arriving next week. Didn't want to use the copper stuff I have on the SPL FUCAs.

Thank you, I appreciate the advice and will take it to heart. 28 is really dream territory, I am guessing my reality budget will be about a 20'er.

Diesels are towing kings. And definitely not more expensive in the long run. Maybe expensive comparatively on an annual basis. But the longevity factor...

Unfortunately adding a full bidet fixture like BoneZ had in his hotel would required renovating the bathroom configuration :(

I don't they are that expensive to maintain. My Z and wife's Audi are way more expensive. Mine is 2002 been paid off longer than I can remember so I don't even count regular maintenance. What will cost you is when things that wear out. The front end will go and all that will need to repair every 5 years or so. Hopefully you want to replace injectors or something like that. I bought an external 50 gallon external fuel tank. I make it so nice not to worry about fuel stops. Now they necessity stops! She pulls my 24 footer with no issues at all. I love my old smoker!

Mine is a necessity for me. I have to own it for what I do. The new trucks are way more expensive to maintain. The pre-emission trucks, not so much. That's what Hotrodz and I have.

I should have got a gooseneck because that is what I normally tow and I am setup better for than my bumper pull. They are just more expensive and I cheeped out. I do like my trailer though.

Cleaning up around the garage on a rainy Friday night

Rusty 05-03-2019 10:39 PM

I used to tow a 35ft 10,000lb camper wiith my Hemi Power Wagon. The trick with the Hemi is to let it scream when towing. The more rpm's the better. It doesn't like to be lugged. I took it up Eisenhower Pass in Colorado with no problems towing the camper. The pass is 11,158 ft in elevation.

Madwi, if you are serious about getting a truck to tow. 3/4 ton or bigger. Everything is bigger on them. The thing about GM's. The 1/2 and 3/4 4x4's have the some front diff. :icon14:

Rusty 05-03-2019 10:42 PM

It's alive, it's alive. First time off the jackstands since Thanksgiving. and it started right up.

Rusty 05-03-2019 10:47 PM

On another note. I think my air compressor is dying. It's making some weird, and funny noises. Sounds like the reeds in the compressor are breaking. Well, I figure it's about time for something to break on it. Hell, the damn thing is about 36 years old.

I'll check into some 3/4+ trucks as Im open to whatever will fit the bill the best. I really have been missing having a work truck around so maybe its for the best. Ill have to look at all the angles.
