Does anyone here have an opinion about digital torque adapters? Any good? Thanks!

JARblue 03-23-2019 09:52 AM

I have a Craftsman 1/2" analog and HF 3/8" and 1/4" digital wrenches. Pretty much spot on from some basic testing, but it may be worth noting that the analog wrench is 8 years old and has been repaired twice and the digital wrenches are less than a year old with minimal use on them.

Yeah, from what I've read and seen on youtube, the digital adapters seem to be fine. Thanks for your reply!

I probably should invest in a better/new torque wrench but I just don’t use it much anymore.

The majority of mine is just checking torque after tire rotation, which I farm out to Discount Tire.

JARblue 03-23-2019 11:38 AM

I don't let Discount Tire do anything but mount and balance the tires. They don't get to touch the car.

I can see you checking the torque going yup yup yup all good. And they are godzilla torqued to 200+ ft lbs :rofl2: Of course, I guess you just let them deal with that :icon17:

Not that overtorquing is good but I have an electric impact so not much I can’t get off if I needed to.

Oh and they don’t touch the G. They only get the NX and Silverado. When I swap the tires on the G I load them all in the truck and take them to a high end place to mount the new tires. Discount is more worried about volume over quality. Had more than a few scratched rim issues.

Surprised you aren't at Indycar this weekend.

We just decided not to go to this one. I did find it odd that COTA did not offer hardly any Pit Passes for this race. They apparently Sold out shortly after the race was announced. That's a first. Out of all the times that we have been to Long Beach, they have never sold out of pit passes and they have twice the attendance. Anyway hope it is a good race.

There is a forum member and former Z owner who is a manager at local Discount Tires here (he moves around as he is needed). I always coordinate with him and he gets the best guy to take care of my Z wheels. No issues with damage although one time they were training a guy and the one tire he did was backwards (outside mounted on the inside) lol

I have a couple of torque wrenches. The ones I use the most is the Snap-On Digital 3/8" and 1/2" drives.

The snow we got last night is gone for the most part. The only snow is in the shade. My pear tree has buds on it already. I'm hoping that we don't get a frost and kill the buds.

I’m going outside to test my strength & Pick up the Yard
