Between me and wifey. We got 1.2 put away. I figured if we would have stayed working until 65, and today's market. Think we would have close to 2 mil.

We started planing for our retirement in our mid 30s, my wife retired @ 53 and we had no mortgage no car or credit card payments, I always believed in delayed gratification not immediate gratification. We stilled traveled and did what we wanted but there were always limits, and the retirement plans were always first and now it's time for this plan to pay off !

When my first wife died. I was completely out of debt. Remarried and got back into it with the motorhome, some home improvements and Obombocare. :shakes head:

I've worked with guys who make $150,000 a year and have nothing to show for it. Or bought a mini mansion that they will be paying on for the next 40 years at $4,000 a month. :shakes head:

A million these days ain’t ****. I wouldn’t feel comfortable walking away without 5 million plus. Of course I’m in my early 40’s and it would have to last longer.

1 million, you can retire on easy. You have to change your life style and still be comfortable. That's with any retirement. If you don't change, you will spend more then you planned for. I had a hard time getting my wife to change. She finally got the message. She wanted to travel all the time. That takes money. :shakes head:

sup duuudez.

eastwest2300 04-20-2019 06:31 PM

so im just getting home after a nice full day at mr. madwi's place... i replaced my fog lights on my QX, very very nice upgrade over OEM... and then I did the AAM test pipe install... talk about a complete painus in the anus.

Im pretty sure, I broke my index finger pulling the o2 sensor out from one of the cats, and then I tore off a massive piece of skin off one of my other fingers doing something I forget, and that was after I wacked myself in the head twice with a wrench.. suuuuucked!

I'm conflicted. :rofl2: I like how I'm set up now. But miss that $150,000 a year pay. If I went back to work full time. I would have the money to do a lot more, but not the time to do it. :icon14:

That's what I try to tell those guys !
It'll make your life more comfortable, but you certainly not rich.

madwi 04-20-2019 07:09 PM

I made burgers for lunch and they tasted so good. It was perfect day for grilling and working on cars. High 60s and clear skies.

jchammond 04-20-2019 07:10 PM

Had a chicken pot pie & managed to chip a tooth :icon14:
I’m pretty sure it’s just a filling from a non-crowned root canaled tooth...but I’ll know before too long :wtf2:

They were good. 8hrs @ 165 and then five minutes a side in the broiler. One was a sweet Apple run and the other I made out of some seasoning I had in the pantry.
