I've yet to break a single thing on my car other than me not knowing how to fix simple issues. Any mods were done around competent people who could teach me as well.

With how finicky our cars are for mods. It's just safest to spend the ludicrous amount and have FI do the install. Or get the BP kit and pray you're as confident as Madwi.

As long as you feel comfortable wiring, or know someone that is, and can do basic car stuff (oil, change a flat, etc.), you can install the BP kit.

I could follow step by step instructions on installations for it. But I'd be screwed and lost if I managed to snap a bolt head, break something without realizing the specifics, or get confused when something in the instructions isn't on my car.

The other big constraint is having very limited tools.

Nah. That's no fun. I prefer getting dirty and learning along the way instead of just paying.
