Pretty good post, and don't misunderstand my point. I'm not saying most people today aren't soft - I'm saying the necessity of being other than soft is largely gone. Our society (here in the US) is no longer driven by subsistence farming. I also know that if you started putting the screws to society, through war or famine or plague, you'd see a large number of people die off; and then you'd see a large number rise to the challenge.
(Also, FYI, I worked in construction for 14 years starting at age 12. I've done pretty terrible work in pretty terrible conditions and did it for a long time. My dad's mantra was "Larson's don't call in sick, they crawl in sick." I have no illusions - it wasn't like a 3rd world country. I didn't risk malaria or invasive parasites. But my work ethic comes because my parents placed on me the expectation that I would have a job, or I'd be out of the house.)

My point with all of these posts is that people are a product of their environments, for good or for ill.

I agree brother! Life is a choice. And life is filled with tough choices!

I recommend you create a fake identity, max out a few credit cards and then disappear.

No........just left over from Christmas. Stuff that didn't sell. It's all a tax write off. They won't even sell it to the employees at a discount. :(

Greetings from Martin, TN. It has been an interesting day. I watched a man pay for fuel with a check. A CHECK! FFS.

No IT guy on site. Plus the server is under lock and key. No access.

Rusty 01-30-2019 07:18 PM

Anyone thinking about buying the Bell Raceworks diff brace from Z1. DON"T! Here's my write up on it. I trashed it big time!

Who could have predicted the Skytrack to hook onto that one specific bundle of cables!

This is one of the few times that I have really trashed a part. :shakes head: Didn't want anyone to lose money on this.

I own several. Their hand tools are the best. Very comfortable and that is important when you use them all day long.

In the shop I used Snap-On. When I was traveling I used Craftsman. The Snap-On guy was at the shop every Thursday. So if I broke something. No problem. On the road. Hard to find a Snap-On guy. So if I broke a Craftsman's tool. I just had to find a Sears store.

40 bucks a week for the rest of your life. That's what we used to say about Snap-On.

If my first wife knew on how much I spent on Snap-On tools. She would be spinning in her grave.
