Ghosn out as head of Nissan/Renault

Ghosn arrested for financial violations in Japan.

Carlos Ghosn rebuilt Nissan rather successfully. His leaving will be the end of an era.

I was just gonna post. He stole all the Z and GTR money leaving Nissan with outdated sports cars. Douchebag. Maybe now we'll get a new Z & GTR!!!

He made Nissan PROFITABLE by cutting corners and keeping Nissan carsvaverage in cabin tech and falsified fuel efficiency. Nissan's are alwaysv 3mpg lower than stated even when super grannying the cars. He dumbed down a lot of cars like going from the juke to the kicks
Not adding Apple car play and Android auto to cars when Hyundai did it in 2015. And not giving the maxima the proper 4dsc specs. I'm praying someone comes in changing all of the above.

Very disappointing.

It's about time to see another corrupt CEO fall from grace.

A brilliant CEO who brought Nissan back from the brink and built it into one of the largest car manufacturers in the world. Also a thief.

My guess is that he will argue that the Nissan board was aware of his true compensation, but colluded in underreporting this income given the French law capping CEO income.

sp911 11-19-2018 11:33 AM

i'm sorry but no one should be making that much money.

I have always been a firm believer in "What goes around, Comes around." He will get his!!!

While i beg to differ compensation... the fact he reports less is bs.

Atleast if they accurately report income then they can be subject to the same tax laws that the workers face.

Come to canada. You can be a middle income earner pay about 30% in income tax + canadian pension contributions + unemployment insurance(non refundable if you never get to that and to get it is a headache) (aprox 3.5k a year max for both), and get taxed on your purchases (13% here). So i end up giving up more than half my income in taxes.

For a big income earner like a CEO they paying margjnally 51% on the dollar. So if they made 1mill they would pay shy 450k income tax. Im cool with that.

The sheer arrogance and greed of these multi millionaire CEO's always makes me angry:mad:. I'm sure, not just myself but most of us have no objection towards a CEO earning a good income, relative to his/her responsibility and profitability of a company, so why do they cheat?!

I feel for the employees of Nissan, as I'm sure they're disheartened and feel cheated. They must also feel somehat afraid for the stability of Nissan and long range employment.

As someone who's owned a number of Datsun/Nissan products, as well as optimistic future owner of a Z35. I truly hope, Nissan can overcome and be an even better company in the future.

I'd also guess the board was well aware, and the beans were spilled now as part of a management coup to get him out.

Who's next on the board to go? Because it was an insider that spilled the beans.
