It fun to watch them tip over making a turn in town.

That's when you slide down the handrail with 3 points of contact: two cheeks and one hand ;)

Gonna bite the bullet and get that Arc combo tank. I really shouldn't. But I want to :)

Pintsize725 09-20-2018 09:21 AM

We are on day 3 of no network, no internet, no computer usage at work. Supposedly corporate got hit with ransomware.

We have no idea what's going on honestly. IT has been in meetings since Tuesday morning but no one has even started trying to bring the network back up.

Man that sounds like my old company. Owner was actually the one who downloaded the ransomware; his son was responsible for performing backups; his son had not performed backups. We lost months of data. Not QC though - fortunately, I had been making backups of our stuff :)

Just wondering if you're ever going to install anything or keep collecting indefinitely :stirthepot:

That’s going to be expensive. Surprised they didn’t send everyone home. That’s how it would be handle in an engineering office.

Management - ‘Y’all can’t work, so we ain’t payin’ you. We’ll let you know when you can come back to work.’

I'm literally being paid to sit and be on my phone. They need to send us home, it's ridiculous. I called out yesterday to visit the doctor.
The problem too is that our network and internet is routed through our sister company in Fargo so no telling if it originated from there or Miami corporate.

Thats where I was leading that convo lol. We dont get to leave work until the problem is fixed. Every single person from the IT dept gets called in, no excuses. We stay until a solution is working and all systems tested and verified up. Longest Ive been there is 21 hours straight. They will provide sleeping accommodations and food but your azz aint going nowhere.

Yeah, if they had backups, theyd be up and running by now. But ransomware shouldnt take down their network, unless their IT guys are REALLLLLLY freaking out..lol

My longest work day was 32 hours. Had to set up a new router and deploy a new Terminal Operating System in New York. Got to the site at 7am, user support for the day, then deploy the OS and new router after hours. New software had problems so I was on the phone with the developers til 5am. Stayed til 9am to make sure everything is ok. On my way to the Hotel, boss calls me saying the site in New Jersey needed assistance. Didnt get back to my hotel room til 3pm..

Pintsize725 09-20-2018 11:33 AM

We can't do anything without approval from corporate first. So we're still waiting on that.
