Nothing like fresh Michies and an alignment to cleanse the soul.

Hey Bob,
The Fuji bumper is going to need to be trimmed down, quite a bit. The center section circled in pic will have to be cut back ~2" eyeball measuring. Not sure anywhere else but that definitely hits the intercooler.

At least you can roll the Z forward & set fascia on transmission jack.
Or roll the car rearward & block the fascia on both side,,,to get accurate Cutting marks.

jchammond 09-15-2018 03:30 PM

That piece looks to fit against oem crashbar.

I will after the spacers are on. Right now all the sloppy tire lube is still all over everything.

Fix: Remove intercooler and anything associated with it and ship to Atlanta.

Inspecting closer, the residue definitely appears to be in higher concentration around the rocker cover and gasket (Items #15 and 16 on page EM-51 in the 2011 FSM) rather than the PVC hoses. If some seepage is to be expected and you don't see an alarming amount, then I will clean it off and monitor it going forward. But if I need to do something, it's probably something that I can do at the same time as the spark plugs.

Be sure you have the proper spark plug socket.

Didnt get to work on the Z today. I spent almost all day trying to get the garage under control. I have a couple sets of tires/wheels laying around so I mounted the tire racks I have and need to order two more. 325's next to the Fit's winter setup:

Once I trim that, I can see if the side vents are going to clear everything or not.

madwi 09-15-2018 06:01 PM

That wont happen for a while though, so much to do and not enough time.

Rusty 09-15-2018 08:01 PM

Rebuilt the front brake calipers on the PowerWagon today, and installed stainless brake lines too. Big difference in pedal feel. Took a whole quart and a half of Dot 4 brake fluid to bleed the front calipers.

On the down side. I went to NAPA to get the rebuild kits. They said that they no longer sell caliper rebuild kits. Just the whole rebuilt caliper. So went to Advanced Auto. Got the kits off of them for $11.78 each. But can't get new pistons. So had to reuse the old Bakelite (plastic) pistons. :shakes head: Have a feeling that you won't be able to buy rebuild kits in the future.

Are you doing paint correction or just polish? Ive been noticing alot of swirls on mine, but just too lazy to spend a weekend on it.

Just polish. Using a cutting polish for bad spots and a follow up with a finishing polish. Finishing polish only on normal light spots. Then a layer of paint sealant and wax afterwards.

I guess you could consider some of the heavy areas I am working on as being paint corrected.

madwi 09-16-2018 12:08 PM
