Flywheel holder shipped to you yesterday, btw. Return address will be in Philly. (I mention that not so you return it to me - I have no idea when I'll do another flywheel - but so you aren't left wondering what the heck the item is coming from some guy named Chris Holley in Philadelphia)

Don't let the smoke out of the wire. The smoke has to be in the wire for the electric to flow. ;)

This is dangerously close to actually talking about Z cars, but Rusty/Spooler/Hotrodz etc, do any of you have advice on where I should start with reading up on suspension components? Right now this is probably the area of the Z which I understand least; and given that we've now had 2 posts recently (Cupcakez and Shadow) where users with FI managed to nearly kill themselves thanks to poor suspension setups/lack of ability, I figure before I go FI I'd better have this down ;)

I've started reading through the appropriate section of the forum, but a lot of the good data seems to be buried. I figured you guys might have a couple good keywords to search.

Start with the SPL catalog. Hotchkis sway bar. Coilovers, depends on how much you want to spend. It could be from about $1,000 to over $5,000. Brakes, the 'bono's should be the minimum for a BBK. My way of thinking is that you should do the suspension, brakes, tires and everything else first before going FI. This way you are not playing catch-up with the new power.

The 2 people you mention. Pick one. The nut behind the wheel needs adjusted. Lack of ability, over zealous, overconfident, young, dumb, full of crap. Blaming their shorts comings on something else. The list goes on.

On this subject. I've worked with a lot of people over the years. Some wasn't worth the dynamite to blow their azz to helll. Others, you couldn't give them enough praise. You have to find out what motivates people and use that to your advantage. Some, it's a pat on the back, and they will kill for you. Others, you have to threaten physical harm just about to get them to move. :shakes head:

Yup. Electronics don’t work worth a **** once you let the smoke out.

Got my hands on some mimosa, too. Pretty tasty. Not talking about the drink ;)

JARblue 08-31-2018 05:03 PM

Actually tomorrow will be the party day (football game at 11 am). Tonight I will probably work on detailing the Lexus or something random with the Z.

EW and I got the come along hooked up on the hydraulic cylinder end and popped that bitch free! after that a little air and the piston moves freely. What a relief. I got the hydraulic fluid reservoir filled and the air fittings installed. Cables are ran through all the sheaves. Now it is just wire it up, take the slack out of the lines and make sure they dont slip off the sheave and it should raise up and lock into position.
