Madwi has the same exact oil cooler as well. So we can do a simple stare and compare if desperate. haha.

blades and diffuser will take all of an hour. GT-R button I'll just throw to my girlfriend and she can use her phone to figure out how to pry off the backplate. lol.

With the 2 of us under the car, I don't foresee to many issues with the exhaust going into place. Only main concern is making sure we don't over tighten incase we need to realign the tips to be even.

HFC's I have no clue how bad they'll be. And intakes I am assuming can be slightly tricky.

The thing that takes the longest with the exhaust is getting the factory rubber flanges from the oem exhaust's mounting points.. last time we used a lubricant to get them to slide off.

Where are the rubber things located? I wasn't aware of this. I currently have a STM axle back on the rear end. The OEM exhaust is chilling on my porch right now.

If those rubber things are where you "hang" parts of the exhaust, I got them off easily last time. But the tips were uneven so I ended up adding copious amounts of washers to even things out.

Get exhaust hangar pliers if you don't have them already. Makes that a cakewalk.

Something like that.

I'll order the thing on Amazon that Larson recommended. Can't hurt to try.

 I'd try hard to avoid doing an exhaust without them. Let me know your thoughts after you've tried. They even worked on my ancient 300zx with everything rusted to hell.

eastwest2300 04-02-2018 02:40 PM

so mr. leingod... here's my list for you.. 5 quarts of your favorite motor oil, and oil filter to fit, a couple tarps or blankets (to catch spills), 2 pairs (one for you and your gf) of cheap gloves (you can get them at harbor freight) because latex will NOT protect your hands from cuts & bruises and.... hmmmm, thats it for now.

Not me. I'm in Fayette county. No emissions. :D Helll, we don't even recycle. We don't have enough people in the township for that. Only have 3,600. :D

Ok, about what time. I'm going to lay down for a little nap in about 10 minutes.

Rusty 04-02-2018 03:00 PM

The GT-R start button should not take you longer then 10 minutes to do. Pop up the cover around the shifter. Remove the one screw for each knee pad, and remove them. Then remove the 2 screws on the bottom of the center dash cover. One in each corner. Pop the cover from the bottom first. You will have about 4 to 5 inches of room to work with. Pop the plug on the back of the start pop. Push out to remove it. Push in the new one. Install the center dash pad from the top first. Just push it in. Then reinstall everything else.

Yup. Stupidly easy. Figured I'd give it to my girlfriend to figure out. She can handle the simplistic things while we are cursing at demon bolts and oil coolers. Figured you can handle the button, vinyl wrapping the pillars, and helping install the side blades or diffuser.

Her real test will be figuring out how to install the rjm clutch assembly with Madwi giving her directions. She is easily the tiniest and most flexible so hopefully it'll be easier.

Have to watch on the start button. The tabs that hold the plug in CAN break REAL easy. Want to know how I know? Don't ask.

Leingod 04-02-2018 03:31 PM

I figured she could try it the simpler way.

That will do it. I'm just so used to taking the center pad off to get to the wiring behind it when i was installing my gauges.

StevenSlice 04-02-2018 03:50 PM

I learned how to do some of my own maintenance last night, since most of the **** we installed on the Z wasnt me but friends, while i was the assistant / doing the little things. (Gotta start somewhere right)

Learned to bleed brakes, and how to work a Vice because the retainer clips were bent, explaining why it always darted to the side on initial braking.

Rolled under the car, made sure everything was tight and found the source of my dropping of goop(Diff bushing is starting to go).

Adjusted the coilovers, lowered it / gave it some more pre-load.

Gonna throw camber in it tonight by using a caliper gauge and do my best, since the shop i took it too for an alignment was incompetent and couldn't give me the camber i needed. Told them how to adjust it, and still couldnt do it.

Race prep for next weekend, basically complete.

And that includes a 9 minute nap ;)

Just pop it out with a panel removal tool. Takes about 10 seconds.

Scrapped together a quick putanesca sauce while I let some homemade dough rise and now everything is in the oven for some quick and dirty cast iron pizza.

If it's not from 5 guys or in n out, it's just not note worthy. Btw, April 6th is the spring update for mhw. And I'll be available all weekend. Need to have my laptop awake at all times since we are doing inventory of the warehouse and I'm the guy in charge of resetting the dipsharts passwords.

I did not. So thank you. I already purchased 2 throw away tarps. I'll grab oil and filter when the car comes out of storage. I've got some cheap gloves already for everyone as well as bang around dirty clothing. I'm also going to bring a wicked long breaker bar and torque bar.

Oh yea. And does anyone need spare lugs? I literally have a bucket of spares.

Did you ever had the Z corner balanced? If you did, and you adjust the ride height/ spring preload. That will effect the corner balance.

When adjusting camber. That will change the toe. And adjusting the toe will change the camber. So be aware
