My birthday is next month. who wants to buy me a vCenter Server license? :ugh2:

Two Mellanox X-2 10GbE network cards ordered for the server.

I bought a cheap NAS for file server at the office a few months ago. Didn't pay attention and found it only has 500 MB system memory and can't handle 3 concurrent users

So I bought a new TS-453A with 8GB of system memory. I think it should be sufficient lol. And the TS-231 is not a total loss - we already use one as offsite backup, so this one will be a redundant backup in a second offsite location

Have a great Friday everyone! :hello:

Cant have enough backups! :hello:

I am just starting to play around with Emby and Plex. I still want to buy a couple more WD Red drives for a total of 24TB in raid 6. But that means I will be looking for a rack DAS, it never ends lol.

I've been running Plex for years. When I bought the new TV last year, I found out that Samsung's smart TV OS has a Plex app that works fairly well. The QNAP NAS OS also has a Plex app, though I haven't bothered to try it out.

Definitely need to upgrade the storage at home. Ripping blu-rays at full resolution takes up a lot more space than DVDs :icon17:

4k has been available for a little while now and they are starting to hit trackers. ~60GB D/L each :eekdance:

Waxing my Z today in the garage and my buddy calls to say he is coming over to show me something. He whips up in my drive in a new 2017 Jag SVR. Said he had to fly to FL to get it and drive it back. Triple black with a full glass roof. I think it’s 550hp with 600 ftlbs. He let me take it for about a 30 mi ride.

Sweet ride for sure. I took a few (poor) pics in my driveway...

I am onsite today.

Today is the first day of invoicing in the new system. There are $15,000,000.00 worth of them sitting in the queue.

It will be interesting.

I remember why I never go to vslvoline for oil changes anymore. $42.99 for just conventional oil. That's sickening. Girlfriend got robbed yet again. Then again, I am not doing an oil change in 21 degree weather.

It went mostly well.

We are having a minor issue allocating various freight and brokerage fees across the actual ship weights on some of the items in one of the customer groups.

Not a big deal to fix...

Inventory is balancing out, costs are accurate, inventory transactions are all hitting the right GL accounts...

Production transactions are all working well with the shop floor system integrations we built in all the 5 plants...

User security is a pain -- they never test peoples' permissions enough before go-live.

Data analysis cubes are mostly up to speed, but we knew they would not all be complete before we went live. a couple of reports are a little funky...

Our infrastructure is handling the load very nicely.

That's about it for the highlights.
